The Top Gear team go RL trolling in Alabama

Well you were talking about the Beeb’s attitude to file sharing and mentioned a site. Both referenced in that link and it’s only a day old so it’s recent info.

Well, me too. Any thoughts on how the BBC will put their stuff online for the people that are paying for it?

Nope. I’d love them to do it though. I’d pay a nice sum for access to the beeb’s archive.

I don’t think UK’ers should have to pay anything though as they have already paid for the production of the material through the licence fee. Granted it would have to be by IP ranges so that would mean if I was in the UK for a week and had access to broadband I could go download happy and then go home with the stuff.

A poster from Northern Ireland though a few months ago told me that he couldn’t download stuff from the BBC as he was in a non-UK IP range. That’s fucked. I hope they sort/have sorted that out as people in NI pay the BBC licence fee like the rest of ya.

IP range isn’t a terribly watertight way of doing it. What do you suggest?

ID CARDS? BRITISHER IMPLANTS?

/was he a handsome man, Judy?

Making a part of the UK recognisable as a UK IP range would be a good start.

When we get the six counties back ya can cut them off then

I’m guessing that lots of folk in NI are signed up to providers that have their IP ranges registered in Dublin. Although checking my own one, it seems to be registered in the Isle of Man! WTF!

Taxes or lack of them is the answer I’d guess.
