I’m compiling this list 8 days after I met Una in the flesh. I would have done it sooner, but I’ve been away. 
I just wanted to share with the board the Wonder that is Una. Of course, most of you already know how extraordinary she is, but it doesn’t hurt to have more reasons to love her.

She traveled all the way from Kansas City Kansas to Antioch California just for my wedding.

She brought me a laptop computer that she put together herself from five other laptops. I was very, very impressed by that.

She is an excellent conversationalist. She made me laugh, and I was never bored while she was here.

She actually was able to handle my crazy mother. There were no awkward silences, no embarassing moments…well, not for me anyway. Una understood that my mother meant no harm.

She impressed my other family members as well. My dad said, “Anybody who knows that much about engines and guns is A-ok in my book.” My grandparents thought she was very interesting, and was impressed with her job, and her ability to piece together a lap-top computer. My family is a judgemental lot, and while I usually don’t care what they think, I’m happy that they understand so completely why she is my friend. My mother said, “She’s an old soul. Everybody felt like they already knew her.”

Jaime really likes her. Even though she’s been my dear, dear friend for over a year now, she and Jaime never really talked. Since the only person I care more for than her is Jaime, it was important to me that they get along. And they did. After Una went home, Jaime had only positive things to say. He wasn’t even jealous of the few hours I spent away from him with her. He shouldn’t be, of course, but I was still a little concerned, since he usually has my undivided attention.

She took me to the sex-toy shop. And man, was it worth the trip and money! I don’t want to distract from the Una-Appreciation thread with my sexploits, but suffice to say, that butt-plug did come in handy.

She helped me so much with my wedding in the last 2 hectic days. I can not even express how much she helped me. She drove us around to run last-minute errands. She actually made the corsages and boutonnieres for my wedding party. At the rehearsal, she helped me with the music. She videotaped the wedding. She helped with the set up, and even the tear down of the decorations. Afterwards, she helped haul all of the stuff home, and then stuck around and helped up with the presents! These are just some of the major things, I didn’t even list all the small, but significant ways, she made my special day run smoothly.

Her love for fierra. She did not work fierra into every conversation. It was not over-bearing or stiffling, as some people can be when they are newly inlove. Shoot, that’s how I probably still am. I never had to say, “Babe, listen, I love ya, but if you don’t shut up, I may have to kill you.” But her love was always evident. It really means a lot to me that she has found such love and happiness in this crazy world.

Simply, I can trust her. Jaime is the only other person in this world who I trust so completely. She has never lied to me, she has never hurt me, she has never broken a promise. She is the best friend anybody could ever ask for, and I’m so thankful that I can claim her as my best friend. Her support is indispensable. Her knowledge is awe-inspiring. I know that when I have a question, or a concern, she will be there for me. For someone who has never had anyone in her life to call a “best friend”, this is truly amazing. I’m so blessed. I have the undying love of a strong man, and the undying friendship of a strong woman. What more can I ask for in this world?
