Here in the UK the Tories are having their annual conference. The warm-up act for the Prime Minister was Geoffrey Cox, and he made a blinder of a speech.

Now, I don’t agree with a number of things he said - for starters, May needs to go and this was an arse-licking panegyric - but I enjoyed listening to the oratory. I’m not sure he’s as good as Hague was, but he bears watching. Indeed, if I were being truly cynical I would suggest he’s just made himself a contender to replace May.
