The trial has begun. So the question must be asked. Did Michael do it?

I think he’s guilty. Of course, I’d change my mind given proof that somehow showed him innocent, but for now all the potential evidence is just serving to reinforce the general creepy feeling I get from him. I did see parts of the TV special. When he started talking about the kids, it had little red alarm sirens going off in my mind, wondering how on earth what he said didn’t get MORE attention than it did. Before, when I only knew about the first molestation case against him, I was able to give him the benefit of the doubt. But that interview pretty much just sealed the deal. I don’t believe he’s out to hurt kids intentionally (well hanging his kid over a balcony was pushing it) – I do think he is seriously screwed up though, a danger to kids and possibly a danger to himself. He used to be an attractive black man, now he acts and speaks like a child, and he’s mutilated himself via plastic surgery so much that his nose is falling off. He obviously needs some serious help. Maybe being found guilty, if he truly is, and some time being institutionalized and in the company of adults will help him start to come to grips with reality. If it isn’t already too late.

I also don’t get the “why would any parent allow their kid to stay with him?” thing. To me it seems kind of a no-brainer (and this was before I read about the mom’s history of lawsuits) that any parent that would do this is more than likely just offering their kid up as bait until the eventuality that something happens, so they can clean up financially in court. I wasn’t surprised at all when I learned of this lady’s other lawsuits. The guy is so utterly oogey that my brain can’t comprehend people letting their kids within a mile of him for any other reason.

I feel bad for the kid; he’s probably a victim of MJ, he’s a victim of his mom putting him in harm’s way to begin with, he’s a victim of his mom milking his illness for her own gain. I feel bad for MJ, for someone who was once so talented, that has ended up like this. It’s sad that the two that have/will suffer most in this case are the kid and MJ, at this point the mom is the only one with anything left to gain, really, and the one who deserves help the least.

I think he did it, and think he was guilty the last time.

Is MJ guilty? Is a four-pound robin fat?

The question we SHOULD be asking is: will he be convicted?

I’d like to think so, but I’m not holding my breath.

Thanks, you people. Here I was, stuiously ignoring the whole damn thing, and now I have been procrastinating the whole day reading smoking gun and court tv articles on it.

So thanks

You’re in England - you can find the stuff that hasn’t been released in the USA (The usual places). He is one guilty Prince of Pop.

Nah, mate - my point was that I was in the UK, so it was pretty easy for me to ignore it. Now I’m hooked…

Interesting article from a fan’s point of view.

Tell me it doesn’t sound more like some kind of cult.

So what every happened with Robert Blake? Has he been pushed aside in the media spotlight? It just ain’t fair, I tell 'ya.

Me thinks, re: Jacko: (1) He’s seriously messed up in the head, (2) he did it (though doesn’t understand why it not “right”, and (3) he’ll get a rich-guy’s not guilty.

And will someone please think of Phil Spector?? Will no one think of Phil Spector?

I do not believe everything I read, but compile the information to see how consistent the articles are and how the differ.

There have been over 120 warrants issued to search Micheal’s home(s). Of those searches, they did find young boys underwear. In context, the boy was of living there for a stint, so the find isn’t all that shocking to me. They also found porn magazines with both fingerprints on it. As a young girl, I “found” my fathers girlie mags and I flipped through them. Had anyone checked for fingerprints, they would have found both of ours - but I was never molested.

Not to incinuate that no molestation occurred, I’m not on the jury and I don’t have GOD’s job, but I’d like to see how this turns out and to find out the REAL truth. The media loves to create idols just to tear them down.

If Michael did molest this child by masterbating him or masterbating with him and showing him dirty magazines, I don’t know if it’s fair to trade his whole life for that - when some people murder other and do 6 yrs. And if so, does the actual rape of a child warrant the same punishment?

The youngster was 13. His mother was around most of the time - available to him. Was Michael himself or his money so intoxicating that this youngster couldn’t bring himself to actually say that something was happening that made him uncomfortable. I could be wrong, but my understanding is that the allegations come from his younger brother who seemed to have witnessed things when no one thought he was watching. The actual victim has been reluctant to say, based upon published reports because he doesn’t want everyone to think he’s “gay”.

I think Michael feels like a 13 yr old himself when he’s with these youngers. I think Michael clearly has residual animosity for his rearing, although is thankful for where his childhood sacrafices have led him. He does not know “our” reality. “Our” being normal folks who don’t have free access to thousands of dollars dating back to about age 10. He’s led a sheltered life, none that any of us could really fathom.
Feeling like a 13 yrs old and behaving like one with his other 13 yr old friends - exploring sexuality as all adolescents do. He has tried to re-create his youth. That’s how he sees it, as “sweet”. Problem is that everyone recognizes Michael as a 46 yr old adult male that he. He’s unique - freakish if you will, but what do you expect with that kind of life?

Are you serious? You don’t think it’s “fair” that someone who has molested a child should be punished because hey, it was “only” masturbating him, and besides, “other people do worse!!!”

:dubious:

If the Greeks thought somebody had become insufferable cocky they’d expel him for a decade of more. The French, efficient for once, would just put them though the guillotine. chop chop… I see you’ve opted for the golden means. Very wise.

Though I must say. I’m somewhat disappointed there isn’t going to be at least a gunfight. I mean, come on! You are American, are you not?!

What that seems to be saying is wondering if letting him rot in jail for life for masturbation, assuming that’s the final sentence, is fair compared to 6 years for murder.

To me it is, only if it’s a pattern of victimization. One mistake doesn’t necessarily damn you for life. But in Michael’s case, if he were sentenced to life I wouldn’t cry, as if he is guilty he most likely is one of the rare stereotypical cases of incorrigible molesters.
