The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues

He should bring a couple of Beefeaters along, just in case.

Bottles of gin, or Tower of London guards?

Because I think a meeting with Trump wound find me reaching for a Beefeater and tonic. Probably a few. (Though I prefer Tanqueray.)

Ghurkas. The word you are looking for is Ghurkas.

Just wondering: Is trump Putin’s horcrux, is Putin trump’s horcrux, or are they both horcruxes of something bigger and even more voldemorty evil?

I’m reminded of the cartoon by Giles that I spotted in a British newspaper back in the Falklands War.

Two Argentines in a foxhole. One says to the other, “No, Pedro, it’s the Gurkhas who use those funny little knives. The Scots Guards use broken bottles and razor blades.”

THAT was my point.

Correct. Charles isn’t HRH any more. Let’s pay attention to details and not be sloppy.

ALSO my point.

That’s why I’d like to see it: a guy To the Manor Born (big time!) wipe up the floor with Donnie.

Damn. Am I being too subtle these days?

Going forward, I will be using neon Sharpies to inscribe my points on bricks and lobbing the pointy projectiles into the appropriate discussions. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Isn’t it, “To the manner born?”

Senator McConnell, please go and fuck yourself.

You had the opportunity to end this in 2020. You were a coward. I don’t want to hear your criticism of Trump now.

In many ways, I hold him more responsible than Trump.

My bad. You are correct.

I endorse this suggestion.

Too fucking little, too fucking late, you cowardly turd. Go to hell.

I just emailed his office that link and told him that he has no right to complain about this now, given his cowardice in Jan 2020. I don’t know if he cares, but I want him to know we know.

What a fucker. Everything he did to bring Trump about, and to thwart and refuse to cooperate with well-intentioned dems. It really is a toss up as to whom I detest more. It does not make me feel good about myself that I actively wish both of them horrible deaths.

Okay - this is funny. Sen. Blackburn’s Nashville office now has the caller ID of “Cucker McCuckerson”.

Meanwhile, the Democratic party’s consultant class says the key to winning is to be more like Republicans, ignore small donors in favor of the rich, and hang out at gun shows.

We’re doomed.

Sounds like the new flag of the political left is a lot like the US flag, only without the red, the blue, the stars or the stripes.

So a list of connecting with the working class not only does not mention the economic interests of the working class, but seems to be doubling down on the exact opposite, catering even more to billionaire donors.

I’m not going to re-litigate Bernie here, but there was some genuine enthusiasm for him that the democrat party outright refused to tap and are genuinely hostile towards, and that bullshit pathetic list thinks they need to double down on making sure never to actually economically improve the lives of 90% of Americans. They chose to alienate actual passionate support from working people in the US in favor of the billionaires that were slightly more sane than Republican billionaires.

I do wonder – do they know that’s what they’re doing, that they’re cynically denying doing anything that would make people like them because they’re thoroughly corrupt, or do they actually stupid enough to think doing that stuff is a winning policy?

There’s not even any sort of play for tolerance and minorities in that document – just basically “act like republicans from 15 years ago”

I’m not going to blame the incompetent fireman as much as the arsonist, but they have to one of the worst politically parties of all time in a major country.

DOGE? What’s that, you say? Department of Government Equivocation is a good contender. (The link goes to Yahoo.)

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said Sunday that government spending could be separated from gross domestic product reports, in response to questions about whether the spending cuts pushed by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency could possibly cause an economic downturn.

“You know that governments historically have messed with GDP,” Lutnick said on Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures.” “They count government spending as part of GDP. So I’m going to separate those two and make it transparent.”

Doing so could potentially complicate or distort a fundamental measure of the U.S. economy’s health. Government spending is traditionally included in the GDP because changes in taxes, spending, deficits and regulations by the government can impact the path of overall growth. GDP reports already include extensive details on government spending, offering a level of transparency for economists.

Yeah, you’re making something transparent, but it’s not what you think it is.

And what’s next, you clusterfuckers? Are you going to not include all those federal workers you canned from the numbers of unemployed?

It’s the same principle as COVID denial: “solve” problems by pretending they don’t exist, and demand everyone play along. Authoritarians love that sort of thing, just declare reality to be what they want it to be. Which can work in the short term politically, but tends to end in disaster when reality fails to cooperate.

Right. It’s the “What they don’t know won’t hurt them” method. The problem is what they don’t know most definitely will hurt, and it might even kill.

Daddy Vladdy must be so happy with this early birthday present. (The link goes to Yahoo.)

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered U.S. Cyber Command to halt offensive cyber operations and information operations against Russia, a U.S. official familiar with the matter said.

Hegseth gave the order to the head of the command, Air Force Gen. Tim Haugh, in late February, the official said. It is unclear clear how long the order will last.

A senior U.S. defense official declined to comment on the decision “due to operational security concerns.”

We are well and truly screwed. Again, again, and again.

Indeed, see post 2590, with a link to the Guardian. I like them better than Yahoo.

It’s impossible to keep up with this collective of traitors.
