The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues

I just caught this one. Harrowing.

And for those who are still playing the home game of Fascism BINGO, I believe we can now put a marker on Lawrence Britt’s #2:

Disdain for the importance of human rights. The regimes themselves viewed human rights as of little value and a hindrance to realizing the objectives of the ruling elite. Through clever use of propaganda, the population was brought to accept these human rights abuses by marginalizing, even demonizing, those being targeted. When abuse was egregious, the tactic was to use secrecy, denial, and disinformation.

I like to remind our studio audience and all the folks at home that Britt published this in 2003. It is not the (surely, much easier) ex post facto deconstruction of Trump that’s so in vogue today.

“When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying a cross, and hawking Teslas on the White House grounds”

Sage words, those.

I mean, I’d be laughing if Russia or China voted for that.

I think that part is still funny because Trump keeps having to reverse them as the markets tank. And then the markets don’t like the flip-flopping either.

Exactly how much economic turmoil needs to happen before he’ll finally, grudgingly, look up what tariffs actually are?

There’s a more basic lesson he has yet to learn and at his age, almost certainly won’t - there are things you can’t ‘take back’ and have things go back to the way they were.

People aren’t (all) idiots, and people don’t forget. So, all these 30 day or whatever “pauses” don’t do jack because we don’t all have the attention span of a cocaine addicted squirrel jonesing for its next high.

Yeah, but they’re all “Ricky from Trailer Park Boys knock-knock jokes”.

Great, just great, you’re going to ship Canadian Peacekeepers to Canada, aren’t you?

Sending US Peacekeepers to Canada seems like defeating the purpose, but perhaps we could send Canadian Peacekeepers to the USA? And every foreign dignatary visiting the White House could wear a Blue Beret. Wonder where I could buy one. Not that I plan to ever enter the USA again, much less the White House, but they look classy. Particularly when compared to red baseball caps.

And Bill Hagerty.

I reckon Trump just thinks it’s funny to call Canada the 51st state and the PM its Governor. This way it won’t look too bad when the sham elections followed by whatever fuller occupation of Greenland happens. So I am not buying any military action.

But should it…

The US Armed forces will either be obliged - as is their duty or refusing to cooperate in which case they’ll be rounded up and sent to El Salvador prisons or openly rebellious in which case it’s some kind of patchy civil war, with perhaps the Northeast (and maybe as far west as Illinois), and the West Coast against 40 or so other states. Nobody wants that and the best outcome would be a coup d’etat, Trump & Co locked up and martial law and one can only hope run by a general who will seek to keep the union together and somehow restore congress.

If Operation America’s Hat is to happen, first the Navy takes the maritime provinces and blockades the St. Lawrence River and the Air Force bombs a couple cities in Ontario and Quebec and perhaps any city with an NHL team. Just a bit at first - maybe the hockey venues.

If UN Peacekeepers haven’t already arrived it will be too late. Any troops or materiel from Europe won’t make it past the longitude of American Greenland before it’s sunk. I suppose British Columbia has to be taken too, yet I don’t know where any possible assistance (or resistance) will come from in the Pacific.

Any Canadian Air Force will quickly be neutralised and then before any US troops occupy - what is it like 50 miles for 90% of Canada’s population? - there will be more US Air Force drones and missiles. If Congress cannot stop the President - and they’ve shown no inclination to - and no Unfaithful Generals or Admirals to this cause exist, the USA will claim a really big slice of the arctic pie which may or may not be respected by Russia and China, Norway etc… The fighting will go on as long or longer than Vietnam (one hopes) and maybe a couple drones can get in and take out Trump’s shiny new Red Tesla and the White House (though it’ll be Bunker Trump - either in DC or someplace inland like Putin’s Palace (Дворец Путина) on the Black Sea.

It will be tough to capture him and prosecute him and Musk as War Criminals, yet also very satisfying.

This is just the kind of cultural vandalism that would both inflame Canadians even more, and be exactly what I’d expect from Trump et al.

Well, he’s up to 200 percent… at least threatening-wise.

So what’ll it be, $200 for Johnny Walker Black, $600 for Maccallanns (double that for the 18 year old) or a $25 can of Guinness?

Judge says thousands of fired federal workers have to be rehired. The clusterfuck definitely continues. When are the massive class action lawsuits starting?

I’m rich!

Seriously. 3 or 4 bottles at Heathrow Duty Free would pay for a trip to JFK. Too bad I can’t bring back a hunk or steel or aluminum.

JWBB was my go to for many years. I had to stop buying it because if I had a bottle in the house I was drinking it.

Mad King Donald says the Jews control the Wall Street Journal.

So Rupert Murdoch is a globalist to the temper tanTrump. Sorry, I meant a Globalist, with a capital “G”. It is idiotic, but it serves him right.

“I invaded Los Angeles and we opened up the water and the water is now flowing down. They have so much water they don’t know what to do … we broke in to do it.”

“Denmark is very far away. A boat landed there 200 years ago or something and they say they have rights to it. I don’t know if that’s true. I don’t think it is, actually … we really need it for national security … maybe you’ll see more and more soldiers go there.”

“Crimea was given by Obama. Biden gave 'em the whole thing and Bush gave 'em Georgia.”

“A little thing they call it, but it’s not a little thing if you like eggs and you don’t have a lot of money. Eggs have gone down 25% in the last couple of weeks. We inherited that problem. Eggs.”

The only thing WE have to fear is fear itself

F.D.R. still wants his quote back. tanTrump (I like that!) doesn’t even know what FDR meant.
