That’s not what he is saying. He said the judge was not elected president so what he thinks doesn’t matter. He is just taking the opportunity to brag about his numbers because it makes him feel important.
One day, if humanity survives, these posts of trumps will be studied and analyzed, and future humans will conclude that the planet passed through a cloud of cozmik rays that made everyone stupid. Because nothing else makes sense.

Yeah - will be interesting to follow the many rulings adverse to Trump. IMO, that is where the real crisis will be - when/if the admin openly defies the courts.

In a way, it is. It’s the absolute minimum they have to do right now to at least look like they’re following the judges’ orders, but it still lets them continue to dismantle the offices they want to shutter.
If these people are on leave, they aren’t doing the work of the department. That’s job #1 for DOGE. They aren’t using their offices, so those can be shuttered, making it harder for them to ever come back and actually do their job. That’s job #2 for DOGE.
And on top of that, it gives them the narrative that, “Look, these people aren’t even working, and everything is fine*!”, so they can justify firing them again a few months down the line, firings that will be at least a little bit more in line with the judge’s orders.
So there’s no real intent there to follow the law, or the court orders, it’s all gamesmanship, finding a loophole that lets them continue to operate.
*“Fine” if you just ignore all the problems, which you know they’ll be doing.
It looks like admin leave is not paid (they mention it in the article about one individual). Is that true? You’re not fired, but you’re also not working nor getting paid? Seems like the difference between the two is just words.
I’ve been following this on the federal workers forums on Reddit, and I’m pretty sure the administrative leave is paid.

Good morning, This is to notify you that your termination action has been cancelled, we are amending your timecard to reflect administrative leave beginning from the date of your separation and you will receive retroactive pay and associated benefits. We are working thru the onboarding process and will be in contact soon. Thank You
This was posted because the employee in question had told his agency he would be unable to return, as he had already given up his share in a rented apartment and moved back in with his parents, hundreds of miles away. His superiors never acknowledged that.
It really sucks, most of the people they are playing these games with are very young and had recently relocated to take what they hoped were “forever” jobs. Many of them are still financially recovering from relocating, it’s cruel to keep playing with their livelihoods like this.
