The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues

Mr. Trump mispoke: “economic devolution”.

80 years of post-WW2 science fiction and not a single person speculated that WW3 would be an economic war fought by the American President against America. So, so disappointed.

FFS reallllly …the guy has no shame…

Trump guards his image closely. In January 2025, before his inauguration, he released a portrait that was variously described by critics as serious or ominous, and seemed to reference his 2023 mugshot.

That image was taken after he was charged with attempting to overturn his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden in the state of Georgia – a charge Trump denied.

After Trump’s criticism of Boardman, his envoy Steve Witkoff confirmed the White House had been sent a new work from Moscow, which was a gift from Vladimir Putin. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov described it as a “personal gift”.

Witkoff described the picture as a “beautiful portrait” by a “leading Russian artist”.

Keep in mind fiction is burdened by having to make sense whereas reality is unburdened by such trivialities.

Charles Koch, of all people, is suing to block tariffs.

Howard Lutnick, meanwhile, thinks that in the future millions and millions of Americans are going to be assembling iphones by hand and that this is a good thing that you should be looking forward to.

As the lede says, if I was watching this on Netflix it would result in an, “Aw, c’mon!” and a popcorn bowl hurled at the screen.

Edit: The Koch Bros. thing.

It won’t work. As foreseen in this 1990 documentary*, “Caucasians are just too damn tall.”

*- not actually a documentary.

You can fuck with the little people but not with the big money. CEO basic wisdom. But since there can’t be an emergency board meeting to fire this particular CEO, he must’ve thought that basic wisdom as disposable.

Mao fucked it up with the Great Leap Forward, killing between 4-8% of the population. They took away his admin powers but left him free to say and write whatever he wanted. So he launched the Cultural Revolution and kept fucking things up.

Expect Trump to hit the rally circuit anytime soon now.

I’m not sure Trump has the energy to pull of a rally anymore. He was practically falling apart by the end of the campaign and he looks downright sickly most of the time he’s on camera these days.

The time he stopped speaking 15 minutes in and then just stood there for an hour swaying back and forth while listening to music might seem like the Gettysburg Address in comparison.

To say nothing of the fact that as this point he’s liable to draw more protestors than true believers.

The problem I have with that portrait is that it makes him look, well… almost normal. Complete misrepresentation!

I posted that back in November last year. Apparently, lacking the foresight of the current deplorable despicable disaster within a disaster within a disaster (yes, Russian nesting doll disasters), I left out:

  • Platonic ideal of stupidity

I mean, it does accurately illustrate his jowly, bloated face. The mouth isn’t malformed enough and she’s given him normal hair, but other than that, he’d be lucky to be remembered like that than the reality.

Yeah, she really captured the bloat.

What’s missing is the malice.

That is the reason he hates it. He wants to be obnoxious, spiteful and deplorable.
I once knew a fool that claimed he’d rather be feared than loved. He thought of himself as a stalinist. I guess you could call trump a wannabe putinist.

Trump wants to be beloved. It’s just that, as a narcissistic psychopath who never got any kind of meaningful love from his parents, he has absolutely no idea what love is and the only way he knows how to get people to tell him what he wants to hear is by threatening, belitting, and/or lying to them.

Trump wants to be worshiped and feared, like a god. And he wants those who fail to worship him punished, also like a god.

Do I have to spell it out again for the slow kids?
American consumers are being hit by the tariffs.
You are just ~300M people, most countries in Africa don’t even have any meaningful trade with the US.
This just means they’ll sell their goods to the EU at a slight discount while Americans will be yearning for the Biden years when inflation was only in the double digits.
