GOOD NEWS! Measles prevents autism!
37 and counting in Kansas.
- Lawyers for the state of Florida settled with Centene,Florida’s largest Medicaid contractor, over-billed taxpayers $67,048,611 for medications.
- But instead of returning all $67 million to state and federal coffers, they sent $10 million of it to the Hope Florida Foundation, a charity overseen by first lady Casey DeSantis.
- The money was then sent to two nonprofit organizations that aren’t required to report how they spend their funds. Those “dark money” groups later gave $8.5 million to a political committee overseen byDeSantis’ chief of staff in a series of transactions that some Republican lawmakers believe were illegal.
The independent voice of the American media landscape continues to unravel.
Depressing.
Trump has identified – consciously, via his malevolent minions, or preternaturally – every potential guardrail that could lead to his demise or thwart his malign intent, and actively seeks to do them immeasurable and existential harm.
The ‘man’ who holds the position from which mere words can spasmodically drive global markets wields awesome power.
Trump is, in short, the apotheosis of the Mafia Don.
A recap of the brilliant 4D chess that Trump is playing with the economy, as explained to the media by his lickspittles:
Trump’s Trade War Lies Explained in 10 Minutes and 39 Seconds
Will Saletan deep dives into Donald Trump’s attempts to re-write the narrative around his tariffs that crashed the economy, as his administration officials including Peter Navarro, Howard Lutnick, Scott Bessent and Karoline Leavitt repeat the lies on the reason for the tariffs and why they were put on pause.

New food safety slogan:
WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU MAKES YOU EXTREMELY SICK AND EASIER TO KILL THE NEXT TIME
A small thing, but you’d think that a government who’s so focused on “efficiency” wouldn’t bother with pointless witch-hunts to “protect Christians”. . But then again they’ve learned from the best.
From the article:
Critics were quick to condemn Trump’s announcement at the time as a thinly veiled attempt to privilege evangelical Christianity over other religious minorities.
Wait. It was veiled at all?
Huh.
So … saying “Happy Holidays” to a cow orker this December will definitely be charged as a Felony.
Also: Trump Bibles available in the VA Gift Shops – still (as ever) made in China. Don’t mind the tariffs. Think of it as tithing for Jesus (a/kl/a “Christ Tax”)!
A year ago they cost less than $3 each to import (120,000 copies). They sell, apparently in these gift shops, for $59.99 so even if they need more any rise in price or tariffs (and they likely will be exempted under the “Bibles with Jesus, Jefferson and Lee Greenwood” executive order won’t matter much.
From Amazon I can get a “KJV, Pew Bible, Large Print, Hardcover, Black, Red Letter, Comfort Print KJV” for £14.25 or about $20 and for some reason free shipping (usually £30 is the minimum)
- Words of Christ in red help you quickly identify Jesus’ teachings and statements
- Miracles and parables of Jesus call out important events during Jesus’ earthly ministry
- Easy-to-read 12.5-point KJV Comfort Print
Can’t find what country it was printed in. Yet if I needed a bible I’d look no further.
I just looked, and the ‘Comfort Print’ version is $10.99. The Large Print edition is $12.61. My wife and I both have Prime, so shipping is free.
Charged as a felony? Nah, that’s a terrorist action. Straight to CECOT with them.
Good prices. Yet I looked to see if this was the usual “Prime Trial” Amazon sneaks in. Just straight up free shipping. Maybe here the price for shipping can be included if you do your own fulfilment (if there’s a pun there, not intended).
eta: What country were they printed in? Dunno if Bibles use British spelling norms or whatever country they’re for.
Yep.
Add at least £10 of books dispatched by Amazon, or at least £35 of all other eligible items dispatched by Amazon to your Shopping Basket.
Dayum, £35 is the minimum now. Yet only £10 for books. Since I’m replying OT to myself I may as well mention when Amazon only sold books (circa 1995), they included a free mousepad with a Groucho Marx quote on it:
Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.
Are there no free bibles in the hotels anymore?
Anyway: why would you need a bible? It’s like watching the movie Titanic. You already know how it ends.
I imagine it could be a useful tool for teaching American “Christians” what is in that decoration that they are afraid to open.
“Other religious minorities”? When did Christians become a religious minority in the United States?
Note (bolding mine):
While 63% of Americans identify as Christian (of some flavor), only 24% identify as being an “evangelical” or “born-again” Protestant. In other words: Christians are not a religious minority in the U.S., but evangelical Christians certainly are.
