“From Canada, I can see my money.”
I’m putting this here because it doesn’t warrant its own thread.
The other day I saw my parents’ MAGA neighbor house, and he had a sign hanging on the house that said something to the effect that “Trump is making liberals cry”
While we’ve been hearing about “liberal tears” for a while now, I realized that it isn’t just some joke. For a remarkable number of people Trump is good because (real or imagined) they like pissing off other people.
How sad is it to be an adult who thinks being a dick to others is a worthwhile goal?
I’m sure one of the Gob Bluth $xxxx suit quotes could fit the “photo”. Plus, Will Arnett is Canadian.
It’s sad, but it’s got him elected twice.
I wonder what all morons that thought a President Trump would be a good thing for the people of Gaza think about this.
“Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied History of the United States of America,” Trump added. “RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW!”
‘Look, just because Trump is threatening to carpet bomb and/or nuke Gaza doesn’t change the fact the Biden is no different!’
I can’t imagine Hamas leadership was expecting ALL CAPS.
This … this is a serious game-changer.
The gods help us if Trump ever figures out what the formatting buttons do.
If it comes to that, I think the Italians are screwed.
Tell that to all of the Jeep and Ford F150 drivers I see on my commute.
Well, in the case of the Jeep drivers, you can take comfort in the fact that Stellantis managed to accumulate the worst-quality brands from around the world, somehow make them all worse, and will probably ultimately take them the way of Westinghouse and Polaroid: You’ll be seeing Jeep-branded garden rakes at Walmart long after the last Jeep vehicle is produced.
Why would they want to prevent that?
(Certainly, they’ll want to have a plan in place to prevent the flames from spreading. We don’t want to go through this AGAIN…)
Be fair! My 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport was built by DaimlerChrysler (the ‘Chrysler’ was silent). It’s still soldiering on.
They just got finished fixing the damage from the last fire!
I’m a big fan of old Wranglers. I’d never depend on one. Or probably own one. But I like them.
Fun Fact: Some of the Chrysler models share window switches with some Mazeratis.
My ‘Wranglers’ were a '48, followed by a '46 CJ2A.
Yeah those are pretty big waist sizes.
or wait
Seriously though, the idea that the rest of Canada would apply to become a US state would make Québec sovereignty support go way up. If people think the québécois culture and language are threatened now, it sure as hell wouldn’t be better under US rule.
Heck, I’d vote for sovereignty. I have zero interest in becoming an American, or even ever moving there for work (or, increasingly, caring to visit…)
How Kash Patel was suspected of nearly botching SEAL Team 6 rescue mission
Long story short: An American farmer was kidnaped from Niger for ransom, and was taken to Nigeria.
Then-Secretary of Defense Mark Esper detailed the incident in his memoir about his time in the first Trump administration. He describes a tangled web of incomplete information being relayed to various agencies that should have been involved, directly or indirectly, in the planning and execution of the rescue mission.
So there was lack of communication.
The U.S. needed permission from the government of Nigeria to enter their airspace and to conduct the raid.
Patel told the principal deputy undersecretary for policy, Tony Tata, that Nigeria had approved the mission. With aircraft 15 miles from the border, Esper found out that Nigeria had not given their approval. General Mark Milley put the aircraft into a holding pattern until permission from Nigeria was granted.
“My staff told me that, upon hearing this news, Tata called Patel back and engaged in a heated conversation with him over the NSC staffer’s bad report,” Esper wrote in his book, while the Atlantic reported that Tata shouted at him, “You could’ve gotten these guys killed!” adding, “What the f*** were you thinking?”
Patel is said to have responded, “If nobody got hurt, who the f*** cares?”
Esper notes that his team “suspected Patel made the approval story up.”
