That was then; this is now:
Other than the National Guard are fair game to send overseas, I had no idea that a President could order them (and it would also now seem Marines) to do domestic stuff. I know Posse Comitatus only “limits” what they can do yet clearly trump and heggy are testing out all his domestic coup limits. Even if that’s all he’s doing (for now) and no shots are fired it’s bad enough. If some protestor gets killed LA is going to burn.

That didn’t age well.
No it did not.

It’s already happening. A combination of tariffs and immigration crackdowns are causing this:

Sure it did. IOWARDI. It’s states’ rights, states’ rights, states’ rights until a state does something they don’t like then it’s Feds trump (sorry) everything.

Pubbies admit Musk lies like Don the Con.
Elon Musk was exaggerating the achievements of the Department of Government Efficiency, and “most everybody” on Capitol Hill knew it, a GOP lawmaker has said.
Republican U.S. Rep. Blake Moore told reporters that, behind the scenes, many were skeptical about the bold claims of the world’s richest man.
“Most everybody knew Elon was exaggerating what he could do,” Moore of Utah told reporters outside the Capitol on Thursday. “He was claiming to find $4 billion a day in cuts he was going to get. One time, he said $2 trillion, he was going to find.”
“It’s a massive exaggeration, and I think people are recognizing that now,” he added.
Yeppers. The only thing Musk’s blather lacked was in two weeks .
The Base is back. (The bolding is mine.)
An international neo-Nazi terrorist organization is boldly continuing to build in the US and planning a new paramilitary training event without fear of local authorities or the FBI , which once dismantled it in a nationwide effort.
The Base, founded in 2018 by a former Pentagon contractor living in Russia and now suspected of Kremlin-sponsored espionage , once boasted close to 50 stateside members before the bureau made more than a dozen arrests in a years-long counter-terrorism operation.
But since the presidential election campaign last year and what many then believed to be a surefire victory for Donald Trump, the Base saw an opportunity in a potential administration uninterested in policing white supremacy and went about ramping up its ranks .
Now, the Base has a presence in Ukraine , performing sabotage operations inside the country against the embattled government, and new and dangerous cells emerging across Europe, and it appears to be growing in the US, where the FBI under the Maga acolyte Kash Patel has signalled it isn’t prioritizing investigations of far-right extremism.
Big Baby Begs Billionaires.
President Donald Trump is aiming to give the Kennedy Center a MAGA makeover, and he has reportedly called on the country that gifted him his “palace in the sky” to do it.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the Republican president’s dramatic takeover of the longtime performing arts institution has led to plummeting ticket sales .
Last month, Trump set the tone of his hostile takeover by dissing the institution’s history of programming and its physical space during a dinner with the center’s board members.
“The building is falling apart,” Trump said as his dinner guests let out uneasy laughter. “I don’t want to scare people. It’s in fine shape, but it’s falling apart.”
To fix this, The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump has put out calls to the Middle East to bankroll a renovation or two—which could include rehabbing its VIP suites and even building a marina next to the venue so the nautical elite can pull up and enjoy the center’s programming from the water.
Reportedly on the call list was Qatar, which gifted Trump his $400 million “palace in sky” Boeing jet , which he plans to use as his Air Force One until he pockets the aircraft for personal use at the end of his presidential term.
It’s in fine shape but it’s falling apart? WTF? Isn’t that one of the extra lines to One bright day in the middle of the night, two dead boys woke up to fight, back to back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other ?
More on the Garcia case.
Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s attorneys are pushing to keep a civil case against the Trump administration alive so they can seek sanctions against officials for allegedly violating orders to return him from El Salvador, where he was wrongly deported earlier this year.
After the government returned Abrego Garcia to the US on Friday to face federal criminal charges in Tennessee, Justice Department attorneys told US District Judge Paula Xinis that she should pause all deadlines in the civil case while they readied a formal request for her to drop the matter entirely. His return, they argued, rendered the case moot.
But his return came just two days after Xinis, an appointee of former President Barack Obama who sits on the federal bench in Maryland, gave Abrego Garcia’s attorneys permission to pursue sanctions in the case. She instructed them to make a formal request for sanctions by June 11.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s sudden return to the United States on Friday to face federal charges of smuggling migrants across the country was a messaging triumph for the Trump administration.
The news deflected public attention from a series of unanimous court rulings — including a Supreme Court decision — that President Donald Trump did not have the power to unilaterally detain and deport individuals to foreign prisons without a review by a judge.
And the allegations against Abrego Garcia are damning. A federal grand jury found that the 29-year-old was an MS-13 member who transported thousands of undocumented immigrants, including children, from Texas to states across the country for profit for nine years. He allegedly also transported firearms and drugs, abused female migrants and was linked to an incident in Mexico where a tractor-trailer overturned and killed 50 migrants.
Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg, a lawyer representing Abrego Garcia, said Saturday that he planned to meet his client for the first time on Sunday, but declined to further comment.
A former senior law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity, citing fear of retaliation, said he was struck by the large amount of resources the DOJ put into investigating Abrego Garcia.
“They came hard at a relatively low level guy, which does not necessarily make it improper — just odd. Perhaps they wanted the last word, which seems childish,” said the former official. “Typically, you work up the chain, not down it. That said, at least he gets his due process rights this time around.”
In a telephone interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker on Saturday, Trump hailed Abrego Garcia’s indictment and predicted it would be easy for federal prosecutors to convict him. “I think it should be,” he said. “It should be.”
Multiple questions about Abrego Garcia, the case against him, and the political fallout remain unanswered.
Homan threatens to arrest the governor of California and the mayor of Los Angeles.
LOS ANGELES — The Trump administration’s “border czar” warned that immigration enforcement will continue “every day” in Los Angeles, hinting that even elected officials could face arrest if they interfere with agents on the ground.
Tom Homan appeared undeterred by the volatile protests against federal agents in Los Angeles who were carrying out immigration raids. Enforcement will be daily, he said late Saturday in an interview.
“I’m telling you what, we’re going to keep enforcing law every day in L.A.,” Homan said. “Every day in L.A., we’re going to enforce immigration law. I don’t care if they like it or not.”
No word about Homan planning on arresting a 34-times convicted felon who continues to openly break the law.
The lying lunatic-in-chief spews more nonsense about protestors.
President Trump said people participating in protests in Los Angeles will not be allowed to wear masks and praised the National Guard for “a job well done” after he deployed them to the city to settle the protests.
“These Radical Left protests, by instigators and often paid troublemakers, will NOT BE TOLERATED,” he wrote on Truth Social early Sunday morning. “Also, from now on, MASKS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to be worn at protests. What do these people have to hide, and why???”
[Remember the magaflatearthers’ meltdown over Biden stumbling?](Trump stumbles on steps up to Air Force One
[quote] President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio both stumbled as they boarded Air Force One on Sunday on their way to Camp David .
The stumble came after Trump gaggled with reporters in Hagerstown, Maryland, when he was asked if he would be willing to invoke the Insurrection Act in response to the protests against immigration raids in Los Angeles .

I’ll leave it to your imagination on how Rubio is attached to the felon. But I will say it ain’t by the hips.
Did he pseudo-stumble after seeing Felon stumble? Damned DEI-made uneven spaced airplane steps.

Are you trying to say the steps are diverse ?
So i had a dream last night and thought lot of why taco booted that space dude. I don’t think it was because he was a democrat. But that doesn’t explain why did his business deal with TACO for over 5 years. You would think when someone goes to your properties meets with your kids, you would know them really well? Someone that goes to your hotels and personally meet probably means you know all about them? Not sure why news isn’t reporting on this part. I read it in a book about him.

Welcome @norhwallhum .
That’s just the beginning. Start (buy) an environmental company that liberals and democrats flocked to, and then get in bed with the biggest environmental disaster the country has. A man that claims to hate liberals and democrats (as long as there is $ in it for him). A man that does not give one shit about anyone but himself.
And then pretend to wonder why your customers are running away from you, and people are ashamed to own your product.
well im not talking about musk but sure yea he has his own problems. It becomes more difficult to keep their stories straight when they get caught in lies. I once thought i reached the end of the rabbit hole but for some reason it keeps getting deeper.
Monty:
"Also, from now on, MASKS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to be worn at protests. What do these people have to hide, and why???”
It’s not illegal to wear a mask. So now Trump thinks that laws happen when he says so? So let it be written, so let it be done?
Maybe we’re getting it backwards and he’s telling his ICE goons they can’t wear masks anymore?
/s
Yeah, I know
I don’t know if the National Guard has the authority to make arrests and detain mask-wearers. Probably just to shoot them.
The reason is tear-gas. If it doesn’t get in your eyes and you do not breathe it in, it’s a major waste of government tear-gas.
“In addition to that, all citizens will be required to change their underwear every half-hour. Underwear will be worn on the outside so we can check.”
Superman doesn’t see a problem with this logic.
Oh, people don’t want to work around Pete “WhiskeyLeaks” Hegseth? Unsurprising, but I’m sure they’ll dig up some goober eventually. Good use of Vances’ time, though, and I’ll take any delay or distraction to the current administration.
