I feel like a broken record, but he believes easy conspiracy theories over science because he just doesn’t understand the science. His followers who consider him an expert source trust him over the science. This is what happens when he puts people that share his delusions in leadership roles. What a fucking moron.
I also think it’s ego (which takes a hit because he doesn’t understand the science).
If he believes the science they he is admitting other people know more than him, are smarter than him. But rejecting science means he can pat himself on the back over how much smarter he is than those stupid scientists. So he picks the latter option.
I always loved this one. Just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside:

I’m actually a little curious how this plays out. The thing to remember is that unlike Wakefield who was a fraud through and through, RFK is an actual true believer. He believes that there is a real connection between vaccines and autism, that can be demonstrated by a well designed study performed of researcher who aren’t under the thumb of big pharma. So he might hire real researchers to do a real study of the connection which will inevitably come back negative. So what will be his play? Will he admit he was wrong? (LOL just kidding) Will he discredit his own study? Suppress it and pretend it never happened? Order the researcher to risk their careers by fudging the numbers before publication?
It will be like the commission he set up to study how the Democrats spied on and interfered in his campaign in the 2016 election. When they found no wrongdoing by Democrats, he promptly disbanded them and it was all memory-holed.
And what sucks is that the one and only thing I ever gave Trump credit for was helping get a vaccine program fast-tracked. We had estimates of when a Covid vaccine would be available, and thanks to that program we had them much sooner, and I believe lives were saved.
That in no way counters all the other crap he did (including mismanagement and lies about the pandemic, which cost lives) but I could always point to that and say he did one good thing as president.
And even that one thing he needs to shit all over.
And now the dictator wants to deport American citizens.
President-elect Donald Trump said in an interview with “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker that “you have no choice” but to deport everyone who is illegally in the U.S., including possibly removing the American citizen family members of those deported.
Trump also said he will move to end birthright citizenship — long enshrined in the 14th Amendment of the Constitution — which would strip rights from those born in the country to undocumented parents.
He’s now fully invested in this nonsense. There’s no way he can go the entire first day in office and not issue the executive order he’s threatened promised to issue. And now he’s promising that this executive order will include deporting American citizens.
How do you think he plans on getting around the bit that you can’t deport a citizen? Of course, by including in an executive order that said citizens are not, in fact, citizens. He’ll go by those stellar legal minds he has in the Dictatorship Diaries linked above as to why the Fourteenth Amendment does not apply to these people. And it will apply retroactively. It will have to.
Tell me how I’m being Chicken Little here.
Executive orders cannot undo federal law. If he issues such an order he will be sued and it will be overturned. What he wants to do cannot be done without legislation AND a constitutional amendment.
Or he and his minions can just ignore all that. You keep talking as if laws are magical spells of compulsion.
