One of our local TV news stations took photos before the event started and posted them on their Facebook page, which of course drew jeers and mockery at the sparse attendance. And on their evening news shows they had a few closeups of spectators (prominently displaying a Mexican flag.)
The other station, on their evening news show, had a drone shot that showed the full crowd of 9,000 lining the street.
So, your reality depends on what news source you follow…which explains a lot, sadly.
As a child in San Diego, I would see PSAs on TV reminding all aliens to register. Of course being a child, I thought they were talking about space aliens!
Fox News brings on somebody to hype the perade. If you listen for more than a few seconds, you may actually smell alcohol fumes seeping through your screen. (To be fair, if it was your job to go on TV and polish this turd, you’d probably get drunk as a skunk too…).
It’s been a long time since I’ve attended a parade, but one of the ones I remember as a child was a Shriner parade in downtown Chicago when I was a child. There were more people on the sidelines at that one.
The video of Trump reminded me of a fantasy I had yesterday when I heard the weather reports of possible rain in DC yesterday. I was hoping for at best a light mist on the parade route, but a torrential thunderstorm where Trump was sitting.
Re: Fox, again. Much of the real damage it does is by what it doesn’t tell its viewers. If it doesn’t show the sparse crowds, then the viewers are free to believe that half a million were in attendance.
If it doesn’t report that two Democratic legislators were assassinated by a crazed White Christian Nationalist, then viewers are free to believe other “reports” that it was a wackjob leftist who did it.
And you never, ever report on bad results from the current administration (without a yuge spin, anyway) so viewers can believe that this is the bestest administration ever, reaping successes that nobody can believe.
Organizers estimated that more than 5 million people participated in more 2,000 planned protests, according to spokesperson Eunic Ortiz.
A local Wichita station stated the same thing on their FB page. One of the idiotic comments by a trumper was that since this number represented less than 1% of the population, the protests were a failure.
Yeah, she’s thoroughly pickled at the derby hunt, alright.
To get an idea of just how much she was about 412 sheets to the wind, here’s a basic youtube rambling of her, here:
Is there a Soros counter somewhere? I feel I’ve heard that Soros has been paying for shit for decades now. How much money is he alleged to have spent to get people to go to things or claim things?
Soros is way ahead of the curve. That’s how insidious he is. He’s been paying fake actors with cryptocurrency for decades–even before it existed, so he has never needed to use hard cash. He just creates new coins whenever he runs low. It’s endless. Didn’t you get the sooper-dooper secret memo?
