Is it just me or does the “crowd” in the background look a little “enhanced” in the DoD picture? And the sky surprisingly blue?

I’m pretty sure that’s not a picture from the parade. Just some photo they found to make Trump feel good. And convince MAGAs that it wasn’t a bust.
Given recent aviation events in that area, it strikes me as incredibly irresponsible to have a number of helicopters in the air at the same time.
Maybe it was to attract the kind of crowd who go to NASCAR races for the crashes.
I can’t argue against the current administration being a wreck, a train wreck.
To be fair, I heard on the radio that they closed Reagan for the parade.
Wait, are ICE supposed to round up people from farms and hotels or not? The White House is turning into the Waffle House (I didn’t come up with this, but it’s great).
Waffle House is next.
They’re backpedaling from enforcement in rural areas because that’s where MAGA votes are.
Cities are being targeted because that’s where Democratic opposition is strongest.
And that is the civil war the magaflatearthers want and have been orgiastically fantasizing about.
I’m expecting any moment an Executive Order mandating the creation of a mounted lancer unit, which will be equipped with gold-plated plumed helmets. And capes.

Why did Charlotte chicken out in her comments? If the soldiers were “tired, annoyed, and angry,” then WHY? And why were none of their supervisors holding them to a “high standard of excellence” in this particularly important parade?? 
I don’t know who this writer is, but what was she afraid to come out and say? The snippet says she’s an “activist” – so why the wimpy comment?
I want to severely beat around the head and neck the copy editor who let this headline through:
US reverses guidance pausing ICE raids on farms, hotels and restaurants, WaPo reports.
Though I know that the copy editor probably isn’t human.
I suspect it is because she doesn’t know. She is projecting how she would have felt in the same circumstance. It’s perfectly valid. I would have felt exactly the sme way, and in fact did at a couple of parades I ws required to attend.
How would they do that - threaten them? With what? I doubt recruitment and re-enlistment numbers are good enough these days that good soldiers can be cashiered for lackluster marching.
And how do we know that their supervisors didn’t feel the same way?
That’s what I thought also.
- The superiors felt the same way.
- They didn’t notice.
- The troops involved will get lots of remedial practice in the upcoming weeks.

Just using this as a starting point.
All the doomsayers here (and elsewhere) always say the military is 100+% MAGA, supporting everything Dear Leader says. My limited experience with active and recently serving is more like 50-60%. But I have no idea what reality is.
The fact of the sloppy marching (which even I could see) combined with lack of order and discipline evident coming from the officers and noncoms, and add a bit of Fortunate Son trolling, and I no longer know what to believe!
Cross posting from P&E, figure people would need an appropriate venue for venting. Another Democratic politician has been detained/arrested by ICE outside of an immigration hearing. Between Noem’s statements about “liberating” LA, Trump saying they’re specifically going after large cities and now this I wonder if ICE has received updated orders regarding meddlesome Democrats…
A reporter with The Associated Press witnessed Lander’s arrest at a federal building in Manhattan. The person Lander was walking out of the courtroom was also arrested.
Lander had spent the morning observing immigration court hearings and told an AP reporter that he was there to “accompany” some immigrants out of the building.
Except, in spite of the ambiguous headline, they are backpedaling from the backpedaling, and are now resuming the enforcement on agriculture and hotels.
I am wondering if and when the crops in the fields go unpicked and the prices of produce will skyrocket. Or maybe the raids will resume after the tomatoes and lettuce have been harvested and shipped.
IF it was a photo op it’s a good one. I 99% think it’s real, but these days…
