That’s quite the nifty trick, isn’t it? Stack the court, and then the court says, “Hey, we’re stacked and will probably rule in his favor, so sod off!”
They know it’s not going to happen. They knew then. They know it now. They also know he’s incompetent, corrupt, full of bluster, and nothing more than a con (your choice for the tail end of that word: man/vict).
Do you know what a barker is? He talks loudly, makes outrageous claims, and does this to get money. (Same link, my bolding)
I hope he sent one to King Charles III with the same salutation. I’m also wondering what would be in such a letter to his lover, Kim Jong Un. Go ahead. Write what you think it would be.
This ninny thinks that seasonal/migrant farmworkers that follow the crops that need harvested get health insurance? They’re lucky to be provided with water.
I think what she is proposing is that we deport 40% of all farm workers because they are undocumented. Then we tell the 34 million US citizens who are able-bodied yet still on Medicaid that they have to work in the fields to keep their Medicaid benefits.
I think all of you are misunderstanding Rollins plan. It isn’t that illegals will get health insurance, it’s that all of the illegals will be deported, but will be replaced by shiftless Americans who right now are sucking off the welfare Medicaide teet, but who thanks to the new work requirements will be forced to get up off their lazy butts and so can work in the fields like their ancestors.
Now, how many of those 34 million live within driving distance of the farms?
There’s a reason why migrant farm workers are called migrant farm workers. They travel a lot to follow the work as the agricultural season progresses. Of course, I don’t expect any of these MAGA chuckleheads to have actually thought through the logistics of their “plan”.
I’m by most accounts a healthy 6’3" 220lb. guy. I’m 64 years old. Now, when I was in my 20’s I could and have done that kind of shit work. Currently, I struggle to mow my grass when it’s hot out. I took my dog for an early walk at 5:30am because it’s supposed to be 100 degrees today. My dog would not like it either.
Khmer Rouge ideology stated that the only acceptable lifestyle was that of poor agricultural workers. Factories, hospitals, schools and universities were shut down. Lawyers, doctors, teachers, engineers and qualified professionals in all fields were thought to be a threat to the new regime.
For that matter, how many of them already have other jobs? From here:
I suppose amongst those there are a tiny quantity willing and able to work, but whether the new farmwork “opportunities” will turn out to be anywhere near them seems unlikely.
Seems to me, if they really did want to reduce dependence upon Medicaid, this might be an easy way to address it. One small change to the ACA could reduce the number using Medicaid by quite a bit.
And the high cost of healthcare to include professional caregivers, of course, has exactly zero to do with this, no doubt.
With the new definition of full-tme student, this one’s a no brainer. Quite a lot of opeople will need to drop out of school because they cannot pursue both education and survival at the same time now.
