The problem would be his insistence that the size of the crowd beneath him was much bigger than it really was.
You may ask ‘Why do we stay up there if it’s so dangerous?’ Well, we stay because Washington is our home. And how do we keep our balance? That I can tell you in one word: corruption!
From the Interesting Facts thread yesterday: the paternoster elevator. And many references to escalators. I wonder if the dotard dares to use them.
The felon wants to take over Washington, DC.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Two 15-year-olds have been arrested in Washington in connection with the attempted carjacking and beating of one of the most prominent members of the Department of Government Efficiency, renewing calls from President Donald Trump for the federal government to seize control of the nation’s capital.
The victim, Edward Coristine, nicknamed “Big Balls,” was among the most visible figures of Trump’s DOGE, which was tasked with slashing federal bureaucracy.
Coristine was assaulted around 3 a.m. Sunday in the city’s Logan Circle neighborhood by a group of teenagers attempting to carjack him and a woman whom police identified as his significant other, according to authorities.
The Metropolitan Police Department said the group approached the couple’s car and made a comment about taking it. Coristine pushed the woman into the vehicle for safety and turned to confront the group. At least several of the teens then attacked him, police said, until officers patrolling nearby intervened. As officers moved toward the group, the teens fled on foot.
Two 15-year-olds from Maryland were arrested on charges of unarmed carjacking, police said.
The attack gave new fuel to long-standing Republican efforts to challenge Washington’s autonomy, with Trump threatening to bypass local authority and impose direct federal control over the city.
In a social media post and remarks at the White House on Tuesday, the president described crime in Washington as “out of control."
“If D.C. doesn’t get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City, and run this City how it should be run, and put criminals on notice that they’re not going to get away with it anymore,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
DO IT! Come on, felon. Do it! I want to see how you and the cult spin the absolute disaster your incompetence will bring to the capital.
#2 (and you know what #2 means) better strart looking for another gig.
President Trump said Tuesday he sees Vice President JD Vance as an early favorite to serve as his successor.
A reporter asked Mr. Trump whether he sees Vance as the “heir apparent to MAGA.” The president responded that Vance is “most likely” the leading contender.
“It’s too early, obviously, to talk about it. But certainly he’s doing a great job, and he would be probably favored at this point,” the president said during an unrelated executive order-signing ceremony.
Mr. Trump also mentioned Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and suggested he’s “somebody that maybe would get together with JD in some form.” And he said the Republican Party has some other “incredible people.”
The felon’s erasing President Musk’s legacy.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The Trump administration on Tuesday formally axed a program launched by billionaire former Trump adviser Elon Musk requiring federal employees to summarize their five workplace achievements from the prior week, as first reported by Reuters.
The Office of Personnel Management, the federal human resources agency that implemented Musk’s push to slash the federal workforce, announced the end of the “five things” email via a memo that rescinds guidance instructing workers to comply with the initiative.
“At OPM, we believe that managers are accountable to staying informed about what their team members are working on and have many other existing tools to do so,” OPM Director Scott Kupor said in a statement, adding the agency told government HR representatives that OPM would no longer manage the process nor use it internally.
While many federal agencies had already phased out compliance with the weekly email, the move signals the Trump administration is turning the page on one of Musk’s most unpopular initiatives following a falling out between the two men in early June.
Just come out and say it: both Musk and Trump don’t know what they’re doing.
Before (normal) and After (tacky)
The Oval Office is looking a little bit different lately.
Every US president makes new interior design choices upon entering the White House, often reflecting their personal tastes or political views.
In his second nonconsecutive term, President Donald Trump has incorporated his love of maximalism and gold furnishings into the Oval Office.
More White House renovations are in the works. The White House announced that the construction of a $200 million, 90,000-square-foot state ballroom would begin in the East Wing in September.
Take a look inside Trump’s redecorated White House to see the changes he’s made since former President Joe Biden left office.
Personally, I think $200 million would be better spent on something like epidemic prevention and emergency preparation or even helping FEMA, but then I’m not the tackiest man alive.
The Trump administration has become embroiled in legal battles with families in Texas as it tries to take their land to finish off the president’s border wall pet project.
In a renewed effort to finish the $46 billion wall , Trump has started seizing land, mostly in the state’s Starr County, and paying just thousands of dollars for it.
Nearly all the land in the state of Texas is privately owned, including the land adjacent to Mexico’s northern border. The Trump administration is now threatening to proceed with eminent domain-empowered land seizures if the homeowners don’t play ball.
Dozens of eminent domain lawsuits have been filed this year by the government. In many cases, the land at the center of those lawsuits is land that families have worked for generations, the Wall Street Journal reports.
One man under the gun, Alejo Clarke, 76, told the WSJ that Trump is trying to take his land, and that if successful, the president will run a wall through his property that separates him from hunting and fishing grounds he’s used for decades.
Clarke lost his land to Trump’s border wall aspirations during his first term, but regained it under President Joe Biden.
The government is offering Clarke just $3,000 for his land.
There’s more at the link. But this comment is the gospel truth.
court rulings have only sometimes stopped Trump from doing whatever he wants
The felon’s now outdone his 1930s idol when it comes to sporting events. (The bolding is mine.)
In past Olympic Games held on American soil, sitting presidents have served in passive, ceremonial roles. President Trump may have other plans.
An executive order signed by Trump on Tuesday names him chair of a White House task force on the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, viewed by the president as “a premier opportunity to showcase American exceptionalism,” according to a White House statement. Trump, the administration said, “is taking every opportunity to showcase American greatness on the world stage.”
At the White House, speaking in front of banners adding the presidential seal to the logo for LA28, Trump said he would send the military back to Los Angeles if he so chose in order to protect the Games. In June, Trump sent the National Guard and U.S. Marines to the city amid widespread immigration enforcement actions, despite widespread condemnation from Mayor Karen Bass and other local officials.
“We’ll do anything necessary to keep the Olympics safe, including using our National Guard or military, OK?” he said. "I will use the National Guard or the military. This is going to be so safe. If we have to."
I wonder what those Guardsmen who support him feel about him viewing them as not part of our military.
I interrupt this post for a history lesson.
Hitler saw the Games as an opportunity to promote his government and ideals of Aryan racial supremacy.
I return you to your regular reading.
Before moving onto another CF datapoint, let’s check out the evolotion of the Olympic Games’ logo. Here is the 1936 Summer Games logo. And let me remind you of his fingerprint on the upcoming games:

(Sorry, I couldn’t find a picture online. If anyone can, please post it. Thanks!)
Well done, @Monty . You made me laugh out loud with this one. Thank you!\
The same way they’re spinning the absolute disaster his incompetence has brought to the country.
I do have a suggestion for what address they can start checking for the criminal element in the city.
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20500
I understand there’s some dude there with 34 felony convictions.
Best tweet seen yesterday: “DIDDLER ON THE ROOF”
“They better make sure that the police intervene in crime, stop it while it’s happening, and arrest the perpetrators, or there’ll be hell to pay!”
“Sir, that’s what actually happened…”
“…You’re fired!”
I mean, what more could the police do? Pro-actively shoot anyone they see on the street at 3AM?
Hasn’t he said essentially that in the past?
Yes, but only after “Big Balls” completes his drug deal.
They 1000% don’t. Maybe more.

Best tweet seen yesterday: “DIDDLER ON THE ROOF”
Literally LOL’ed at that one.
The victim, Edward Coristine, nicknamed “Big Balls,”
Is “overcompensating” one word or two?
Letter in yesterday’s i Paper..
Definition of Oxymoron - Trump going outside for some fresh air.

We’ll do anything necessary to keep the Olympics safe, including using our National Guard or military, OK?” he said. "I will use the National Guard or the military. This is going to be so safe. If we have to."
I wonder what those Guardsmen who support him feel about him viewing them as not part of our military.
HeHeHe, oh yeah. There’s always a critical housing shortage during an Olympics. The last time Trump invaded LA the Guardsmen were sleeping on the floor. Now he’s going to add the Marines? Where is he planning (hah hah “planning”) to put them?
Am I one of those overreactors if I think trump wandering around on the roof was a “senior moment”, aka dementia? How would he get up there? Does he even know the WH has a roof?

Two 15-year-olds from Maryland were arrested on charges of unarmed carjacking, police said.
Trump had to have hired those two kids. “Unarmed”? Are you kidding me? Don’t those kids watch TV?

In his second nonconsecutive term, President Donald Trump has incorporated his love of maximalism and gold furnishings into the Oval Office.
Donnie was going for the “Edwardian whorehouse” look. And he achieved it.

One man under the gun, Alejo Clarke…
That first name sounds awfully Mexican.
The Trump administration has asked NASA employees to draw up plans to end at least two major satellite missions, according to current and former NASA staffers. If the plans are carried out, one of the missions would be permanently terminated, because the satellite would burn up in the atmosphere.
The data the two missions collect is widely used, including by scientists, oil and gas companies and farmers who need detailed information about carbon dioxide and crop health. They are the only two federal satellite missions that were designed and built specifically to monitor planet-warming greenhouse gases.
It is unclear why the Trump administration seeks to end the missions….
Maybe someone should quote Mathew 4:6 to him and claim that a bonified miracle would really goose his poll numbers
“If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “’He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”

DO IT! Come on, felon. Do it! I want to see how you and the cult spin the absolute disaster your incompetence will bring to the capital.
Please no. The people of DC have enough hardship as it is what with their primary employer trying to shut itself down. IF it all goes to hell Trump will simply blame Mayor Bowser whether or not she actually had any involvement or even any power whatsoever.

The Trump administration is now threatening to proceed with eminent domain-empowered land seizures if the homeowners don’t play ball.
It will be interesting to see which side the libertarian right swings when home owners start arming themselves and standing their ground to stop the government from stealing their land.
