The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues

Arthopotopia?

It’s just a particular sub-form of carcinization

C’mon, NPR! It’s perfectly clear: it’s because these satellites are SCIENCE, the new dirty word. And because they supply information that contradicts Donnie’s worldview. Don’t YOU start playing dumb! We have enough media that refuse to call him out on his stupidity! We expect NPR to have higher standards!

Next up: the spelling of the word shall be changed to"psyence".

“The new odor from Trump fragrances!”

I’m sure I read this on something like BBC earlier, but can only cite the Kyiv Independent.

I would put good money on three things (that have not before happened): Trump using the word wily, Russians being called “wily” and “characters”

I asked my (Russian) wife if those words translate well. And did he have on his little mind Chuck Jones character “Wile. E. Coyote, Genius”

I also read Russia has a new Hypersonic Missie. Purchased, of course, from the ACME Corporation.

ETA: Genius

I know that Chuck Jones had a definite rule: The Coyote will never catch the Road Runner,

And in his “Genius” speaking role, he takes on Bugs Bunny

FEMA employees reassigned to ICE informed they must report within 7 days or lose their jobs.

President Trump claims that Hochul “caved” to his demands

This makes me angry. That he said it. Or that it might be true. New York and California are the states the Union needs to rely on to say “Fuck off”. Let Trump send in the National Guard to enforce fracking.

I think this one also belongs in the “news items that sound like Onion articles” thread.

It’s okay. They’ve got Superman. /s

I think it’s missing an L in the middle, there.

Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Vladimir Putin in Moscow yesterday, which the US president lauded as “a highly productive meeting" in which “great progress was made.”

Instead of “Special Envoy” - WTF that is, Witkoff should be the Treaty Czar. I can’t believe Putin met with this guy the same day trump described the Russians as “wile characters” - or “crafty sons of bitches” yet he will end the war he’s been promising to end every two weeks maybe next week.

Dunno how many golf rounds before the too busy with more important things to do - plus wasn’t trump going to Israel or was that again Witkoff?

Trump and Putin will have another meeting like the one where he said Russia did not interfere with the elections within days of both the CIA and FBI concluding they had. The 50 star USA flag will be there, yet the white, red and blue tri-color that now represents both nations will be centered.

ETA: It’s all them wascally Ukranians fault!

And trump will be speaking into a lit cartoon dynamite stick that will just go poof and make his orange face ashen orange. All in good fun with wile characters.

I hope that dynamite stick was not made by the Acme Company!

His use of that word, with “characters” really stood out to me as he is not known for colorful language and has a very limited vocabulary. Maybe he was watching Chuck Jones Teachings and learned something about Futility (if he uses that word I will freak), yet as I said Chuck’s “bible” in the sense of Hollywood Characters was “The coyote never catches the road runner” and c’mon, pitting him against Bugs Bunny and giving him a (british-ish) [ ETA: It could be what was/is known as the transatlantic accent that makes you sound smart. Yet not the mid-atlantic speech associated with news readers which is similar (on purpose) to mine. Nobody in Europe guesses I’m from New Yawk unless I confuse them while wearing my Mets hat and they vaguely know it’s NY yet not the Yankees)] speaking role was just to give Mel Blanc something to do.

The word “wile” (meaning a trick or deceit) is relatively old-fashioned and uncommon in modern speech, especially in political contexts. However, it has appeared in literature and speeches occasionally, sometimes in poetic or biblical contexts.

Trump has already declared himself a genius and certainly his orange goo is provided by the ACME company.

The real irony here is Kal-El not only is an undocumented alien, but gained employment under a false name. According to Wikipedia, Cain has been a magflatearther for years.

Half a millenium, I mean year into the Second Felonial Era, what’s the felon’s done for your wallet?

In the initial few months of tariff threats, Americans rushed to buy goods before they rose in price.

“The whipsaw tariff announcements left many Americans feeling the need to stockpile and rush purchases that they may or may not need down the line,” said Aaron Razon, a consumer finance expert with Couponsnake. “In their anxiety and uncertainty, many consumers rushed into making purchases.”

Indeed, TransUnion reported that consumer credit card balances rose to $1.07 trillion in the first quarter (the most recent available data), up from $769 billion in 2022.

WTF? The felon’s managed to get people to emulate him. One trillion dollars in total consumer debt. Assuming an adult population in the US of 262 million, that’s just over $4,000 per adult. Let that sink in for a moment. That’s debt caused by economic uncertainty the felon himself created.

This next part of the article is very telling.

It’s hard for businesses to make long-term plans when the regulatory environment changes so rapidly. That has left many businesses slowing down hiring and other long-term investments.

As CBS News reported, the July employment report showed disappointing numbers, “with the data suggesting the job market is wobbling from the uncertainty of on-again, off-again tariffs.”

Couple this with the magaflatearthers’ usual call “Just get a job!” Yeah, right. The felon’s intemperate behavior has caused real businessmen and women to not hire people.

The rest of the article is a good read.

What? Border Patrol has to rent vehicles now?

LOS ANGELES (AP) — U.S. Border Patrol agents jumped out of the back of a rented box truck and made arrests Wednesday at a Los Angeles Home Depot store during an immigration raid that an agency official called “Operation Trojan Horse.”

The early morning raid near downtown LA came just days after a federal appeals court upheld a federal judge’s order blocking the Trump administration from conducting indiscriminate immigration stops and arrests in Southern California.

“For those who thought immigration enforcement had stopped in Southern California, think again,” acting U.S. Atty. Bill Essayli posted on the social platform X after the raid. “The enforcement of federal law is not negotiable and there are no sanctuaries from the reach of the federal government.”

Except for Mar-al-Lago and the White House, right? I seem to recall one particular multiple felon rotates between the two.

So how’s the general public reacting to the Secretary of anti-Health?

I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but everyone’s least favorite Health and Human Services Secretary, RFK Jr., recently announced that he’s canceling $500 million in funding for mRNA vaccine development.

mRNA vaccines, which stand for messenger ribonucleic acid (RNA), are “highly effective” and “safe,” according to the National Council on Aging, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of older adults in the US.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, the mRNA vaccine helps teach your body to fight infectious diseases. More specifically, mRNA technology is utilized in the COVID-19 vaccine, which infectious disease experts say is what helped to slow the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak in the US.’

In a now-viral X video, RFK Jr. tried to explain the funding cuts saying, “HHS has determined that mRNA technology poses more risk than benefits for these respiratory viruses.”

The only risk they actually pose, you ingnoramus, is that it proves you’re a know-nothing.

Here’s what one actual expert had to say about this decision. (Same link)

In response to the news, Mike Osterholm, a University of Minnesota expert on infectious diseases and pandemic preparations, recently said it’s “one of the worst decisions I’ve seen in 50 years of public health preparedness work.”

I can’t link the rest of the article because it’s a bunch of xits on Xitter, but you really should read them, if for no other reason than the humor. Remember, as you read them, They’re funny because they’re true.

Just in case you wondered what the Nazis’ propaganda would have looked like if today’s media technology were available to them, Cruella de Vile has you covered.

Kristi Noem’s plans for a new migrant detention stalled at the starting line after an auto racing series blasted her proposals for using their intellectual property.

“COMING SOON to Indiana: The Speedway Slammer,” the cosplay-loving homeland security secretary announced in a statement Tuesday. The DHS explicitly framed the plan as a follow-up to its Florida detention center, which the Trump administration gave a similarly toe-curling name: Alligator Alcatraz.

Located at Indiana’s Miami Correctional Center, the new facility promises to expand Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention space by 1,000 beds, and will supposedly “house some of the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens arrested by ICE.”

The name appears to have been intended as a tribute to the state’s history as a racing hub, with the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway situated roughly 60 miles south of the existing prison.

Yo, Cruella! Isn’t hijacking someone’s intellectual property also a crime?

But Indianapolis Motor Speedway is having absolutely none of it.

“We were unaware of plans to incorporate our imagery as part of today’s announcement,” a spokesperson told local news station WISH-TV. “Consistent with our approach to public policy and political issues, we are communicating our preference that our IP [intellectual property] not be utilized moving forward in relation to this matter.”

Y’all remember Catch-22, don’t you? Mork famously coined Catch-44 “because it’s like Catch-22 but twice as bad”. And now we have Catch-666 because the felon and the rest of his herd are just pure evil.

Immigrants seeking green cards through marriage could be vulnerable to deportation, according to a new Trump administration policy.

Federal immigration authorities may begin removal proceedings for immigrants who lack legal status and apply to become residents through a spouse, according to new guidance issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on Monday. The policy, which went into effect immediately, also applies to immigrants who seek lawful permanent residency through other family members.

Immigrants and the spouse or family who sponsor them “should be aware that a family-based petition accords no immigration status nor does it bar removal,” the USCIS’ policy manual said. USCIS said in a statement to NBC News that the change applies both to pending requests and those filed on or after Aug. 1.

Remember, folks, this is from the party of family values!

Now the felon and his accomplices want to prosecute the dead. (The bolding is mine.)

Attorneys handling these proceedings say the government is overwhelming the courts and immigration lawyers by dredging up cases, many of which are a decade or more old. In several of these, clients or their original lawyers have died. In other cases, immigrants have received legal status and were surprised to learn the government was attempting to revive deportation proceedings against them.

Fuck the environment, right, JD?

JD Vance’s team had the army corps of engineers take the unusual step of changing the outflow of a lake in Ohio to accommodate a recent boating excursion on a family holiday, the Guardian has learned.

The request from the US Secret Service was made to “support safe navigation” of the US vice-president’s security detail for an August outing on the Little Miami River, according to a statement by the US army corps of engineers (USACE).

Vance was spotted in the south-western Ohio area on 2 August, his 41st birthday, according to social media posts that noted he was seen canoeing on the river, a tributary that Caesar Creek Lake feeds into.

Little Caesar? That fits.

Preach it, Rachel!

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow says Americans no longer have to fear potential authoritarianism in their own country, because “we are there” already — and cited President Donald Trump’s widespread immigration raids, detainments without probable cause, and use of military force.

“We have crossed a line,” she said on The Rachel Maddow Show, Monday. “We are in a place we did not want to be, but we are there. The thing we were all warning about for the last few years is not coming, it is here. We are in it. This is what [it’s] like, it turns out.”

&

“But also, at the same time, life in the United States is profoundly changing,” Maddow added Monday. “It’s profoundly different than it was even six months ago, because we do now live in a country that has an authoritarian leader in charge.”

She then put it even more bluntly: “We have a consolidating dictatorship in our country.”

More Authoritarian Behavior

ICE facility workers trapped three Democratic representatives between the fence and the entrance as they denied their lawful attempt at entry to a detention center in Brooklyn, New York, on Wednesday.

Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center is normally controlled by the Bureau of Prisons but is currently being used by Homeland Security to house detainees. Representatives Adriano Espaillat, Nydia Velazquez, and Dan Goldman have the right to visit Homeland Security facilities as members of Congress, even without prior notice. But their visit was denied by the Bureau of Prisons, who claim to have different rules.

“.@ICEgov locked me, @NydiaVelazquez and @RepDanGoldman between the fence and the building entrance of the Sunset Park Detention Center as we tried to conduct our Congressional oversight this morning,” Espaillat wrote on X. “This blatant lack of respect towards the Legislative Branch is a deterioration of checks and balances, all while they hide their atrocities from the public. The people demand answers, and immigrants deserve humanity.”

They’re not even trying to hide the prejudice now. (Formatting as in the link.)

‘Want to Deport Illegals With Your Absolute Boys?’ DHS Asks in Aggressive Hiring Campaign

‘America has been invaded by criminals and predators. We need YOU to get them out,’ DHS says in an aggressive ad campaign to hire 10,000 new agents, paid for by President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill passed by Congress

I can’t link to the pictures (which are really xits) in that article, but the third one down is the icing on the cake. It’s supposed to look like an advertisement for a van. The caption is:

Think about how many criminal illegal aliens you could fit in this bad boy!

It’s hurricane season, so where should FEMA personnel be deployed?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The Trump administration is transferring Federal Emergency Management Agency staffers to help speed the hiring of thousands of immigration enforcement agents, according to staff notices seen by Reuters and a government spokesperson, diverting resources away from the agency during the U.S. hurricane season.

The Department of Homeland Security, the parent of both FEMA and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, sent notices to affected employees directing them to accept the transfer to ICE or potentially face termination.

The felon must have dementia. (The bolding is mine.)

WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump appeared to mistakenly refer to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem as professional golfer Cristie Kerr while he was thanking members of his Cabinet at a press conference on Aug. 5.

The flub occurred before the 79-year-old Trump signed an executive order to create a White House task force that will handle operations and security for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles. He acknowledged members of the task force, including Noem who was present at the briefing.

“I want to recognize several members of the task force, including our great Vice President JD Vance. JD, thank you very much. Thank you. Our equally great Attorney General Pam Bondi. Pam, thank you very much, Pam. Secretary of Homeland Security Cristie Kerr,” he said.

Co-conspirator Hegseth just loves him some traitors.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Tuesday that “The Reconciliation Monument,” a Confederate memorial, will be returning to Arlington National Cemetery.

“I’m proud to announce that Moses Ezekiel’s beautiful and historic sculpture — often referred to as “The Reconciliation Monument” — will be rightfully returned to Arlington National Cemetery near his burial site,” Hegseth wrote on X.

And this part is rich.

“It never should have been taken down by woke lemmings. Unlike the Left, we don’t believe in erasing American history—we honor it,” Hegseth said.

Let’s talk a bit about erasing history, Pete. You refuse to admit your idol lost the 2020 election. That’s fact. That’s history.

This morning on NPR I heard a report about Trump’s tariffs. The reporter was saying how many millions – or was it billions – of dollars the tariffs would bring in, and that this was expected to reduce the US deficit. Trump even spoke about “tariff rebates” to the general public.

What bothers me is that the reporter – at NPR! – was reporting these stories as if they were straight and believable, as if HE believed them, with not a word about the fact that tariffs don’t work that way.

I couldn’t believe what I had just heard. When NPR starts reporting Trump’s absurdities without comment or any hint that there is a problem, we’re all in trouble.

By contrast, this showed up on MSNBC about the same time:

He’s not known for colorful language on camera. I’ve heard that he uses profanity as well as Nixon did when not in front of mike. Unless you’re referring to words larger than one syllable, he’s not known for that sort of eloquence

Not really surprising if you’re aware of Mr. Cain’s political leanings. So I guess they’ve official raised the upper age limit for new agents?

Actually they do. The tariff is paid to the government, and the more is imported, more is paid. What people tend not to understand is who pays the tariff and it is not the other country. In the end it does hurt consumers because they end up either paying it or paying higher prices for goods that are now made in the country. While it is true that it is usually does not end up benefiting the country or the people, the truth is that tariff does mean government revenue and that revenue does pay down the debt.
