My guess is that Zelenskyi will fly to London (which will allow him to avoid flying over White Russia) and from there to Anchorage. It would be about an extra 1500 miles or so.

Kiev (KIP) direct to ANC direct goes exactly over the North Pole and is 4,761 miles. The caveat is that route flies over the friendly skies of both Finland and Russian Karelia and those Finns are known to routinely shoot down planes.
Moscow (SVO) to ANC is 4,347 miles and the shoot-down factor is approximately 0, especially as escorts are a-plenty.
The “white russian” route, I had to put in some stops and I myself flown Air Canada from Toronto (YYZ) to DUBlin, so Kiev → DUB → YYZ → ANC (I assume Air Canada has such a route) is 7,872 miles. Shoot-down factor isn’t quite zero, depending on who is in charge of NORAD. And if Ukraine has a 777 perhaps they can fly a slightly more direct route, esp. considering Anchorage may not be where it is.

Frankly, I don’t think Trump makes a distinction between “homeless” and “criminal”. Too easy to find some tiny violation by a homeless person after which they’re treated the same as a hardened multiple offending rapist-murderer.

Your ‘not getting arrested’ - if they do in fact do somewhere in Alaska (the summit of Mount Denali McKinley!) - does hold some water. Putin isn’t going anywhere without Migs and bombers, so it won’t be Vienna unless they want the Mariupol treatment.

The Trump administration has imposed a 15% fee on sales of chips from NVIDIA and AMD to China. It’s not as if the chip makers are doing tis out of altruism or love of the administration. They apparently had to do this in order to get the export licenses.
This is a direct violation of the Export Clause in the Constitution.
Why is he doing this? Shouldn’t all those tariffs be generating scads of revenue for the US? Maybe Trump finally figured out or realized where the money was coming from, and decided to try to put the squeeze on exports as well as imports.
Didn’t other tariffs / restrictions on GPU’’s to China inspire them to create really efficient AI/LLM’s with other, cheaper and available parts? I definitely recall NVIDIA’s stock getting a haircut when DeepSeek was released and I use it sometimes (unfortunately no API) yet it can spit out a little function that saves me some time.
