My Wife are kind of “Damn the torpedoes” people. We saw bad things coming with Trump. But we sold/bought a new house anyway. We had been working on this for three years. Found the perfect place for us and our dogs.

Can anyone explain to me why the hell this is the case? Why aren’t the Democrats in both houses of Congress speaking out, going on every interview show, tweeting and xhitting, and otherwise making noise?
What are they afraid of?
Trump is pushing the boundaries farther and farther out each day and committing one atrocity after another. Where are the Democrats? (Not a rhetorical question.) 
A US senator earns $174,000 per year. Sure, there are some extra perks with that, but that’s the base salary.
The average cost of running for the US Senate is $28,500,000
So tell me - who spends $28.5 million to get a job for six years that pays $174,000/year or $1,044,000 for those six years? Where do you get the money to do that?
The Democrats are beholden to the people who paid for their campaigns that got them the job. They are not beholden to you or me unless some coalition of us passed a big enough hat to be their backer. Who has the necessary money? The 1% of the 1%. The 0.01%. And they think they’ll be fine regardless of who is in office at any level of government, as long as those elected officials are beholden to them. By and large the 0.01% lean conservative (which is another reason the Overton window is going that way), they don’t want disruption, they just want to make more money and pay fewer taxes.
So where is the motivation for Democrats to rock the boat?
There’s that former Illinois senator from the early 2000s who’s certainly welcome to raise Hell, if he please would.
