I’m pretty sure that violates the rules on short-barreled rifles sandwiches
This just in (hopefully correct): Alligator Auschwitz’s population is dwindling to a few hundred and the place “will likely be empty in a few days,” according to this AP story. It’s not stated in the news report, but the Bluesky post where I found it stated that it’s being shut down because it keeps flooding and it’s impossible to get and keep sufficient staffing. I don’t have another cite for that last.
How are they going to feed the alligators now?
Figures, I remember looking over her credentials when she was confirmed and being surprised by the fact that she actually seemed like a reasonable pick. But nope we couldn’t have that, every position must be filled by someone uniquely unqualified or ideally anti-qualified.
Apparently she is refusing to leave. You go stay, girl!

New C.D.C. Director Resists Ouster as Other Officials Resign
Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is said to have demanded that the director, Susan Monarez, either quit or be fired. Her lawyers say she won’t resign.
The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is refusing to leave her post, despite demands from Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. that she quit or be fired, according to her lawyers and an administration official familiar with the events.
The clash between Mr. Kennedy and Susan Monarez, who was sworn in as C.D.C. director just one month ago, burst into public view on Wednesday as four other high-ranking C.D.C. officials quit en masse, apparently in frustration over vaccine policy and Mr. Kennedy’s leadership.
Aw, he’s giving his word to protect Social Security.
President Donald Trump is once again vowing to protect Social Security if congressional Republicans seek another reconciliation bill.
Asked earlier this week what he would prioritize should Republicans in Congress seek a reconciliation bill, a cost-cutting tactic that would bypass the usual Senate filibuster, Trump said he would focus efforts on cutting unnecessary things, and “save” others, such as Social Security.
“One thing I said and I gave my word – we’re not going to hurt anybody on Medicaid, Medicare or Social Security,” Trump said Monday in the Oval Office. Congress is prohibited from touching Social Security’s benefit structure or revenue mechanisms in a reconciliation bill.
Trump went on to say “we’re doing great on Social Security” and that “we’re going to protect it.”
Hasn’t he already screwed it up some?
Did you donate to causes the feloon doesn’t like? You better watch out!
President Donald Trump said billionaire George Soros, a major donor to progressive causes, should be prosecuted, arguing without evidence that Soros has supported violent protests.
“George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America,” the president said in an Aug. 27 post on Truth Social.
Prosecute the dude and his son? That’s some North Korea level bullshit.
Pirro just might not be in the felon’s graces much longer thanks to her stance on the 2020 election.
WASHINGTON – As a prominent Fox News host, Jeanine Pirro – a friend of President Donald Trump and now a top Justice Department official – repeatedly sought to support Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election by claiming widespread voting machine fraud.
Newly filed court documents allege, however, that Pirro later acknowledged during court depositions under oath that she believed no voting machine fraud or failures had occurred and that the 2020 election Trump lost was, in her own words, “fair and free.”
Coconspirator Duffy threatens to pull funds from blue states.
California, Washington and New Mexico may lose millions of dollars in federal funding if they continue to fail to enforce English language requirements for truckers, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced Tuesday.
Duffy said the three states have 30 days to comply with federal English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements after an investigation into a deadly crash in Florida earlier this month revealed the states made significant failures regarding the illegal immigrant truck driver who made an illegal U-turn.
“This is about keeping people safe on the road. Your families, your kids, your spouses, your loved ones, your friends,” Duffy said. “We all use the roadway, and we need to make sure that those who are driving big rigs — semis — can understand the road signs, that they’ve been well-trained.”
Aren’t the traffic signs pictorial? Why should it matter if the driver doesn’t speak English?
So, why is this on the table now?
Duffy referred to the deadly Aug. 12 crash involving Harjinder Singh, a 28-year-old who officials say hails from India and is in the country illegally.
Take a wild guess which language is widely spoken in India.
The felon’s takeover of ICE is dangerous–to the agents!
In a video produced by the Department of Homeland Security this month, two tricked-out ICE vehicles roll around on the National Mall to “Toes” by rapper DaBaby: “My heart so cold I think I’m done with ice (uh, brr) / Said if I leave her, she gon’ die / Well … you done with life.”
The vehicles feature a new ICE logo and DEFEND THE HOMELAND in block letters, painted in a color scheme similar to the president’s private plane. The Lincoln Memorial zips by and DaBaby continues: “Better not pull up with no knife / ’Cause I bring guns to fights.” There’s the White House, the Washington Monument, the U.S. Capitol. On the tinted glass of the pickup, PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP is stenciled in all caps, like a production credit.
& (The bolding is mine.)
The 29-second spot—shared on social media earlier this month with the caption “Iced Out” and a freezing-face emoji—treats ICE’s new taxpayer-funded fleet like flashy bling, but it’s a proclamation that the president’s mass-deportation campaign is entering a swaggering new phase. For many longtime Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials and agency veterans, the video epitomizes the transformation of ICE from an agency focused on legalistic immigration procedures into a political instrument and propaganda tool.
Most ICE officers and agents prefer to work in plain clothes, focus on finding immigrants who are known criminals, and keep a low profile, especially in major U.S. cities where they are loathed by many, and where some activists use crowdsourcing apps to report their whereabouts in real time. Driving around in “wrapped” vehicles not only blows their cover; it potentially makes them a target for protesters, vandals, and attackers, agency veterans told me.
The felon says he’s raised over a billion dollars.
President Trump said he raised $1.5 billion since he was elected in November, hitting a milestone in contributions.
“I am pleased to report that I have raised, since the Great Presidential Election of 2024, in various forms and political entities, in excess of 1.5 Billion Dollars. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” he wrote early Wednesday on Truth Social.
Relax, folks. It’s not for him to run in the 2028 presidential election. Well, maybe not.
The president has said he will “probably not” seek a constitutionally prohibited third term, adding in an interview with CNBC’s “Squawk Box” earlier this month, though, that he would like to run again and citing his polling numbers.
Trump and some of his allies have repeatedly floated the idea of seeking a third term. At times, those comments have been dismissed as a joke, though he has at other points appeared more serious about the idea despite the 22nd Amendment prohibiting an individual from being elected to more than two terms.
Of course it’s not a joke. He’ll try. And, given the state of the nation today, I see an amendmennt permitting him to do just that rocketing through.
I’m posting this in both this thread and the martial law thread.
Folks, I started this thread on November 11, 2024 and the martial law thread on August 14, 2025. I’ve tried to keep up with them daily over the past ten months, sometimes posting more than one update a day. I have always tried to give a pithy title to the links I’ve posted. What I am proud of is my personal analyses thus far in these two threads. For a number of reasons, I don’t think I can make daily updates, and certainly not “breaking news” updates, in the foreseeable future.
Would a Teeming Millionthtm volunteer to continue the effort, the Resistance, in this thread?
I suspect that the signs in question were not the classical no u-turn type of signs, because the driver was making the move on the fucking turnpike when the rig jack-knifed. How having a better command of English would have helped that guy not make an incredibly stupid maneuver is just baffling. If nothing else, he was anxious about being able to deliver on time in order to keep his job, which is a whole nother kettle of vindaloo that will not be addressed by stupid shit like taking money from states of a certain hue.
I won’t, but I just want to thank you for doing what you have done so far. You’ve done a great job, and you have my thanks and appreciation. Well done!
Seconding what @Spoons said, marvellous job @Monty, you’ve done the board proud and you need a definite breather.
Thirded. Great job, @Monty. I have no idea how you did what you did for so long.
I have seen all manner of stories that suggest Felon-ONE might give us a lovely christmas present (perhaps early), and for the hopeful, I thought
“Turdsack Deathwatch”
Really rolls off the tongue.
Thanks. And, dead serious, I was shocked to discover it’s been only ten months.
Based on her history, Pirro will try to charge the flag burner with a felony. Which charge, I don’t know but, also based on history, it will be rejected by the grand jury. Multiple times.
The United States of America’s federal health department is now officially in woo territory. (The bolding is mine.)
Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy on Wednesday declared that he knows “what a healthy child is supposed to look like” before revealing that he finds out just by looking at them.
The 71-year-old Kennedy — who reportedly arrived 30 minutes late to a presser where Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) signed three bills stemming from the Trump administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” agenda — remarked on how no one in his large family had diabetes, food allergies or autism when he grew up.
“I’m looking at kids as I walk through the airports today, as I walk down the street, I see these kids that are just overburdened by mitochondrial challenges, with inflammation,” said the conspiracy theorist and one of the nation’s biggest vaccine skeptics. “You can tell from their faces, from their body movements and from their lack of social connection.”
Anyone want to guess why I bolded the part I did? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Bingo! Killer Kennedy honestly and truly believes he can tell if someone has autism just by looking at them.
The felon announces what limits he believes there are on the president’s powers. (The bolding is mine.)
President Donald Trump sounded like a tyrannical toddler Tuesday as he declared that he has “the right to do anything” he wants.
Trump is feuding with Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker over Trump’s plot to deploy National Guard troops to Chicago, and in a Cabinet meeting he took a turn into downright despotic territory.
“I would have much more respect for Pritzker if he’d call me up and say, ‘I have a problem, can you help me fix it?’ I would be so happy to do it,” Trump ranted. “I don’t love—not that I don’t have… I have the right to do anything I want to do. I’m the president of the United States. If I think our country is in danger, and it is in danger in these cities, I can do it. No problem going in and solving, you know, his difficulties. But it would be nice if they’d call and they’d say, ‘Would you do it?’”
Or, of course, the dictator can just lie about them saying it, like he did with Maryland. (I’ve lost track; it was Maryland, right?)
Pierre Reginald Boulos, who is in federal custody, may still be a US citizen. And thus illegally in detention in the US. (The bolding and italicizing are mine.)
A Florida federal judge ordered the Trump administration Tuesday to explain why it is detaining a well-known Haitian businessman and former Haiti presidential hopeful whose shocking arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement last month continues to reverberate among Haitians.
Pierre Reginald Boulos, who was back in immigration court on Tuesday, was arrested on July 17 at his home in Palm Beach County on an immigration violation. But the Trump administration has accused him in public statements and on social media of being “engaged in a campaign of violence and gang support that contributed to Haiti’s destabilization.”
His family has denied the allegations. Ahead of his latest appearance in immigration court, Boulos’ attorneys filed suit against the U.S. government in the Miami federal court challenging his ongoing detention at the Krome North Service Processing Center in Miami, asking a federal judge to order the government to explain why he’s being detained.
In his petition, Boulos claims he has been “unlawfully detained” by immigration authorities. U.S. District Judge Beth Bloom ordered the Department of Homeland Security “to show cause” by Sept. 2 “why” his petition “should not be granted,” according to her order issued Tuesday.
Bloom’s order came as Boulos, 69, made his appearance before an immigration judge at Krome. Dressed in an orange jumpsuit, he appeared on video due to his cell block being under quarantine. At several points he could be seen pacing back and forth inside the room.
Inside the courtroom about a dozen or so family members, including his siblings and children, listened as attorneys for the Department of Homeland Security and Boulos argued back and forth over his U.S. citizenship. Lawyers for DHS said Boulos renounced that status in 2008, but his attorneys countered that it didn’t take effect because federal authorities made procedural mistakes. Lawyers for Boulos told immigration Judge Jorge Pereira that DHS had failed to submit documents establishing that Boulos was no longer a U.S. citizen. The judge, who pondered whether he had jurisdiction over the matter, at one point quipped, “This case uses a lot of old case laws.”
As I said a while back, the Second Felonial Era even fucks up at fucking up.
Lucky for them they didn’t.
Joe Kennedy would no doubt have unilaterally culled any that did.
The thing is, Killer Kennedy doesn’t actually know nobody in his famiy had autism. The term is now much more widely defined than when he was a little twerp.
Tell Rosemary Kennedy about it!
Or as Tom Waits said: I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
Yeah, I wouldn’t want to work there, either. And it’s in a giant swamp, of course it floods.
This country is being run by brain-absent people.
The orange fucker has already hurt people on Medicaid. Goddamn liar.
So…the Trump administration is going to punish California, Washington, and New Mexico for a crash that happened in Florida? We’re edging into insane troll logic territory. That might be funny on a TV show but it’s no way to approach reality.
I’ll bet when he was growing up no one in his “large family” had literal worms eating their brains, either, but there he is….
