The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues

And these numbers came from the replacement at BLS. The real numbers may have been worse.

Kind of makes you wonder how many times they apply the margin of error in recursion, doesn’t it?

This, THIS, IS OUR SECRETARY OF ENERGY. STUPID

My educated, logical mind just can’t comprehend a post like that from the Sec Energy. What is his thinking? What is his end game? Are they afraid of change? They bought off by oil companies? I really don’t get it. Makes my head hurt.

I strongly suspect this is the main reason. The fossil fuel industry is running scared.

Fortunately, the entire world has not yet been bought. I’ve been reading that there’s been a huge spike in solar energy installations in much of the world in the last couple years: China, India, Pakistan, Africa (many countries), even Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Europe is still putting in lots, and despite the current Admin, so is the US.

Plus, Wright’s boss has been very vocal in his hatred of alternative energy, in particular wind power, though he’s no fan of solar, either.

I suspect that boss’s hatred of solar has more to do with money from oil companies than any particular dislike. We know about the offshore wind project near his golf course that engendered his hatred of that, but there’s no known instance where his fee-fees were hurt by solar panels.

You can’t have wind without Sol.

Quite the world when we hope it’s money from oil companies and shudder to think of the other reasons there might be.

What a joke. And also an insult to each and every one of us who served honorably and with integrity.

How is the wannabe laureate going about “earning” the prize he he desires?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Law enforcement officials on Sunday removed a peace vigil that had stood outside the White House for more than four decades after President Donald Trump ordered it to be taken down as part of the clearing of homeless encampments in the nation’s capital.

Philipos Melaku-Bello, a volunteer who has manned the vigil for years, told The Associated Press that the Park Police removed it early Sunday morning. He said officials justified the removal by mislabeling the memorial as a shelter.

“The difference between an encampment and a vigil is that an encampment is where homeless people live,” Melaku-Bello said. “As you can see, I don’t have a bed. I have signs and it is covered by the First Amendment right to freedom of speech and freedom of expression.”

Well, it makes sense. You don’t need a peace vigil now that Trump has guaranteed world peace for all time!

The Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to some pretty terrible people. Some of whom arguably are even less deserving than Trump, if extensive violence is a key disqualifying criterion.

Which is of course not to say that I think he should get it. But it shouldn’t surprise you too much if he does.

So he wins the Miss America Pageant? “What do I want for the world? World peace, of course!”

(Just thinking about the swimsuit competition. I need eye bleach now.)

Seriously, I find it difficult to believe that somebody who changes the name of his country’s military from “Department of Defense” to “Department of War,” who refers to the members of his country’s military as “warfighters,” and who has threatened such inoffensive places as Canada, Greenland, and Panama with military invasion if they do not accede to his demands, could possibly be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, much less win it. He’s not peaceful, he is antagonistic, looking for a fight, and I hope the Nobel committee sees that too.

That’s been the method to address absolute rulers for thousands of years, though - nothing new. You never criticise the Emperor, always his bad advisors.

It should be mentioned, though, that the term “warfighter” has been used for at least two decades in the DoD, at all levels.

And it has sounded overly antagonistic and stupid the whole time, full of macho posturing. I roll my eyes every time I hear the term.

Whatever happened to, “Speak softly and carry a big stick”?

Nobel prizes come out next month. It’s going to be a significant day in catsup-throwing.

That’s for actual warriors. Chickhawks squawk loudly and pack micodicks.

The list of nominees is secret, but is has been revealed that there are 244 individuals and 94 organizations nominated.
