You have got to be fucking kidding me.
Under the circumstances, this seems perfectly reasonable.
Like I said in the thread in P&E about DJT cabinet appointments, I don’t see that going too well in the Senate.
Or Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence being a smooth confirmation either.
You have much more faith than I do in what’s left of the Republican party. I hope you’re right, but I predict a rubber stamp Congress.
The irony is that Trump’s always saying that, under other POTUSs, the US gets no respect from world leaders. Meanwhile, as these appointments keep being announced, the same world leaders are probably thinking, WTF is going on over there?
Gaetz? I didn’t see that coming. Holy shit. This is not good.
I’m guessing that Trump’s already putting together pardons for every single member of his staff and his administration.
Somewhat analogous to validating their parking.
Ah yes, here we go again. A barrage of stupid decisions leading to an array of incompetent, lightweight and unqualified appointees. The Rapist Criminal is back, baby, and an even bigger dumbfuck than before.
Vlad and Xi are no doubt laughing their asses off. Perhaps on Zoom, so they can fully share the mirth.
Gaetz is the best, the most bigly choice for Attorney General since… Jeff Sessions? Hey, whatever happened to that guy, anyway?
You think Donald Trump is into looking out for other people? Ask Michael Cohen what he thinks about that.

Point taken, of course.
I think it’s less about that, though, than it is about potential Administration members who were actually not comatose over the last ~9yrs.
The thing about (preemptive) pardons is that they would quite literally cost Trump nothing, and – apart from Stormy Daniels – ‘nothing’ is Trump’s preferred sales price.
[shrug]Who is John Galt?[/shrug]
Nah, just costing ‘nothing’ isn’t good enough; Trump has to have the advantage in every situation, because everything with him is a competition. He might offer these people the promise of a pardon should they serve him well enough, and they should take that offer with all of the assurance that past history has demonstrated in the integrity of Donald Trump. But really, they’re here because they want to draft off of his corruption, and in the parlance of a meme I’m getting increasingly tired of hearing even if it is apt, they are the “Leopards Eating Faces” people who don’t think that their own faces are at risk.

There is at least a chance that the Senate will balk at this one.
Jeff was unfortunate in that he wasn’t around long enough to benefit from the “lol fuck you” and “what if I didn’t?” new rules. He actually thought he had to be ethical. Jokes on him.
Ah, Hegseth. That’s the dude who doesn’t want women in the military nor does he want American service members who commit war crimes to be prosecuted.
That right there fits in very well with Trump’s personality: hates women, loves war criminals.
I respectfully disagree:
Jeff Sessions thought that if he was a reliable supplicant, Trump would reward and protect him. It didn’t work out for him because loyalty with Trump is a one-way street with backup spikes.

On the plus side, the House Freedumb Caucus looses a vote and looses influence.
Perfect!
