The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues

Yeah. It’s one reason why calling them "conservatives is inaccurate; they aren’t conservatives, they are radical reactionaries. They aren’t trying to conserve anything, they are trying to radically change society and warp the nation into a new system devoted to persecuting most of the population.

You just know that the absence of applause from the assembled brass is eating at him and I expect this to be rectified by Kegsbreath in the future.

No kidding. We’ve just seen the practice run of firing people for not displaying the appropriate amount of sorrow for one of the pubbies’ designated idols like North Korea requires.

Do not expect it to stop in the foreseeable future.

Not all women in the military will be gone. Donald will have an inspection of who gets to stay. Kegbreath can watch.

I’ve read a lot of books about NK and Kim. We are on that track.

An interesting and frightening thing about Trump’s and Hegseth’s speeches to the flag officers was Trump’s 51st state reference and Hegseth’s catalogue of how the US military will be squared off (eg no woke stuff, no beards, no long hair etc). Hegseth basically slagged the Canadian Armed Forces, which have allowed a lot of slackening of appearance regulations in order to try to mitigate present day recruiting challenges.

I truly do fear the current US now.

The WH is probably adding an applause track to the video even as we speak. And with a little AI/CGI tinkering, I see the Pete & Donnie Show getting a rousing standing ovation at the end of their remarks.

A GOP push to restrict voting by overseas U.S. citizens continues before 2026 midterms

GOP push to restrict overseas and military voting continues : NPR

For many American citizens living abroad, making sure their ballots are returned correctly and on time hundreds or thousands of miles away, back in the United States, can be tough.

But with the 2026 midterm election approaching, U.S. expatriates and their advocates say voting faces more uncertainty than usual, as Republican officials continue a push for more restrictions on overseas voters, including U.S. military members stationed abroad.

This, after the big rah, rah rally of military leaders yesterday. :man_facepalming:t4:

I tried a search and yep…Google is blocking results.

Try typing google(dot)de and tell me what results you get then. I am not getting the same in (dot)de and (dot)com, but that is normal.

Hehe. Duckduckgo isn’t…

On the search page, there is also an option for Duck.ai – I didn’t explore that.

Nothing to do with the US, but I’m having the difficulty that Canada Post’s strike means I can’t mail back my ballot. I have the option to fax, if I can find a fax machine… keen to get it returned before they take away my right to vote!

Looking at the sites that say that Google is blocking results, what they claim is that when asking for trump and dementia the search results do not include the AI summary that explains it to users that think a tweet is too long to understand, but they still link to pages saying that yes, it is evident that he suffers dementia, just like his father.
Now, how influential or accurate those pages are is a different debate.

Inertia has me still using Google but shit like this is definitely moving me to other search engines.

I just tried the search again and now there is no AI window at all. Was there before. Not now.

Is it still there for other searches?

I read somewhere (OK, it was Electoral-vote.com) that the “male-level” fitness thing will only apply to combat positions. So female clerical and medical personnel can stay.

Yep…did “fastest car” and got an AI answer window.

That sounds not good at all. What are they doing, who ordered it, and how are they implementing the instructions? Looks badly incompetent on a technical level at first sight, so not really like google (yeah, I know…). To switch off the AI window selectively, depending on the search terms, sounds like China’s Great Wall. It is worrying that google seems to have had this feature ready for use, if that is what happened.
Let’s hope against reason it is a harmless glitch.

No chance it is a glitch. This can only be intentional.

Then I look forward to the Streisand Effect.
