They (some subset of course, because treating “the Democrats” as some kind of single, unified body is both unrealistic and laughable) have been warning about this since before the election. So what are you actually asking for?
That they find a different way of yelling so that a majority of Americans actually take heed? If anybody has the magic formula to wrangle that herd of cats, they’d already be ruling the world.
Yeah, I had this image of the PRNG rolling up and tossing rolls of paper towels to (not ‘at’) protesters, and then bringing out lechón asado, mofongo, and empanadas, and cranking Bad Bunny on the loudspeakers and turning the invasion into a street party.
Just in case the song is unknown to you, let me link to Luis Eduardo Aute’s “Al alba” (link in Spanish), about the ones waiting through the night to be shot by sunrise. A beautiful, haunting song.
If Wikipedia is allowed to still show this, he is proud of it:
He was barred from serving on duty at the inauguration of Joe Biden after a guardsman flagged Hegseth as an “insider threat”, noting a tattoo on his biceps of the words Deus vult.
I reckon if he said he was or wasn’t going to employ it, that would have made more major news. Perhaps he thought Elon’s minions would accomplish his goals.
There’s nothing particularly odious in there: Nothing about National Guard occupying Blue-state cities, letting ICE do whatever they wished and populating El Salvador jails. If I was even a Reagan-republican I’d want most of the overall themes of Project 2025. It is sufficiently vague, particularly in regards to redefining Article II stuff - but he’s already done that, start with Elon’s minions and all his EO’s which SCOTUS won’t have the time to review once they’re challenged to that level.
The really sinister thing about P2025 is it seems to be a blueprint for an oligarchy. Maybe that’s why he denied it originally, yet I reckon that’s what the USA has. All the crap Trump is doing does not seem like it’s sourced from his one Big Brain.
I’m thinking he might have heard of Roman emperors sponsoring gladiator matches to celebrate their birthdays, and figures this is the next best thing. Who knows by then he might be able to make arrangements with the national zoo to get some Democrats thrown to the lions.
Thanks! It is good to know that our president is so brilliant to deny knowledge of a very long document or intent to implement it.
And then implement it, including the super-secret bits like National Guard and ICE.
Consolidate Executive Power: Centralize power in the presidency based on a controversial interpretation of the unitary executive theory. This includes replacing thousands of merit-based federal civil service workers with political appointees loyal to the president and taking partisan control of key agencies like the Department of Justice and the FBI.
Critics of Project 2025 view it as an authoritarian plan that would undermine the rule of law, the separation of powers, and civil liberties, leading the country toward autocracy and a Christian nationalist state. Proponents argue it is necessary to dismantle an unaccountable and overly powerful federal bureaucracy and restore a more conservative vision for the nation.
A frontal Monarchy (shadow oligarchy) for all. I don’t think Reaganites would quite have supported this one. But now it’s The Law.
