The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues

Thank you. Interesting article. Chilling and terrifying as well.

Brought to you by Republicans who put a Faux News talking head in the position to do this.
Republicans are swell.

Worked for me. Odd, different systems/browsers…

I’m sure that’s it. @robby was kind and posted a gift link.

Worked for me, thanks.

Stalin had his big purge of thousands of military in 1936-37 to get rid of perceived threats of a coup. The high-ranking ones might get together for a coup so he had them executed.

He did not execute Zhukkov and Vasilevsky, who saved his and the USSR’s ass in Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad). Yet even then, the war hero Zhukov was looking into politics and was demoted and discredited - in Russia, you usually don’t shoot war heroes.

Hegseth would fire a guy like Zhukov, then blame the loss at some battle on the guy who took over and fire - or perhaps execute him.

On a different topic, a link that should work for everyone. It is about cartoons, cartoonists and censorship. Money quote:

Telnaes observed that, in his first administration, the thin-skinned Trump was so much a creature of television that he didn’t really notice political cartoons.

Now he does, or someone is doing it for him. Please read, and support cartoonists. They need it:

And it is surely no mistake to subscribe to Ann Telnaes Substack

and KAL’s:

“The Democrats are cracking like dogs!”

“Actually, the Democrats are winning!”

“Actually, instead of subsidies, let’s repeal Obamacare and send everyone a check!”

There are around 260 million adults in the United States as of 2024 according to the U.S. Census Bureau, and, with spending for Obamacare subsidies alone topping out at around $125 billion that same year, Trump’s proposal could see Americans each receive a check for at least $481.

“It’s one healthcare. What could it cost, $481?”

WTF is this supposed to mean? I’ve had dogs. None of them ever cracked…leastways not where I heard them.

Hmmm…yeah, that should cover your average person’s medical bills for a year. Real good thinking.

“I have to take my dog to the vet, I knocked him over and he cracked in half.”

Dogs are brittle in Trumpland, apparently.

Everyone knows that dogs are the crackheads of the animal world!

“Like dogs" or “like a dog” is one of.the worst things Trump will say about something. The man hates dogs.

One of the key reasons why the shutdown is still happening is because of ACA subsidies. Republicans say it is too expensive is something we need to stop extending for fiscal reasons.

We could also just go full universal healthcare and save money. That also comes with added bonus of better quality of life (less sick people!), less dead people and most importantly , less paperwork!

we estimated that a single-payer universal healthcare system would have saved about 212,000 lives in 2020 alone. We also calculated that US$105.6 billion of medical expenses associated with COVID-19 hospitalization could have been averted by a single-payer universal healthcare system over the course of the pandemic. These economic benefits are in addition to US$438 billion expected to be saved by single-payer universal healthcare during a non-pandemic year.

I wonder how many of the fired ones had been in his chain of command back in his lackluster military career.

The feeling, I’m sure, is mutual.

Of COURSE this would make the most sense. But it would put several of the wealthiest oligarchs in a bad place, financially, and that must NEVER happen. Oligarchs above citizens, always!

Yes, Donald does hate dogs. But he somehow thinks that “like a dog” works for everything. “Fired like a dog” is one of his most frequent, and it is utterly sense-free.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s tried “flew like a dog,” “meowed like a dog,” and “translated Japanese into Albanian like a dog” at one time or another. He really does seem to believe it’s an all-purpose comparison.

Among the things Trump says people do like dogs;

  • Choke
  • Die
  • Lie
  • Crack
  • Get fired
  • Cheat
  • Beg for money
  • Debate
  • Are ungrateful
  • Drop
  • Wrongfully comment

A useful compendium.

I still think he’s gonna bust out with “clucked like a dog” or “bragged like a dog” or “indicted like a dog,” one of these days.

He never any any taste in music. Logical, happens to people who can’t dance.
