The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues

IMHO, you should post this as widely as you can.

Besides, you were inevitably going to get fired – and be stripped of your pension – for not overtly and glaringly discriminating against minorities in your job, anyway.

But I’m sure you knew that

A long four years, indeed. I’ve never been so glad to have a terminal illness …

I am beyond anger with this.

It’s just so upsetting.

I have no words.

(Re Ulbricht pardon)
The reasons Trump gave were (not gonna look them up and quote) were tike “these were the same scum who targeted me”.

Well, that was the fucking FBI you stupid orange dumbass tool. Blanket pardons for everyone the filthy FBI has investigated and put in jail!

With Ulbricht, ISTR that you could buy almost anything there (the original DarkNet “Silk Road”), but drugs were the main trade. And as insecure and traceable as Bitcoin has become, they caught him from some posts on Usenet (remember that?). Anyways, to put him in Supermax with the Unabomber and the worst terrorists for two life sentences plus 40 was too much. He was locked up for over 10 years and they sold off 50,000 of his BTC just last week (not that he was going to get it back).

Also, they just locked up one of his lieutenants recently for what I recall was at least 15, maybe 25 years. Trump and Musk (who it would seem suggested the pardon) have moved on so too bad.

Maybe Trump and/or his whisperers want a new dark web Silk Road that accepts his meme coin.

His “right hand man” - caught in Thailand in 2015 and sentenced in 2023 so maybe it was someone else related last week.

In a Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday, Roger Thomas Clark—also known by his online handles including Variety Jones, Cimon, and Plural of Mongoose—was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for his role in building and running Silk Road.

He’s 62, dunno if he gets solitary in Supermax.

And that Onion quote about Chapman had me going. It’s really fucked up when Onion headlines seem so plausible.

ETA:

This could also be an Onion article. Monero was recently basically banned because it was so untraceable. If the FBI is defanged there won’t be anyone to trace TrumpCoin.

Feature? For him and the craven party which has elevated him more than his shoes, it’s a mastubatory fantasy (now reality).

Here on Yahoo is a fun back and forth with Felon 47 and a mighty fine journalist.

Trump took questions from reporters at the White House during a press conference, beginning with NBC News Chief White House Correspondent Peter Alexander, who first asked, “You would agree that it’s never acceptable to assault a police officer?“

That prompt elicited a ”sure" from Trump.

Alexander then got specific. “Among those you pardoned was D.J. Rodriguez. He drove a stun gun into the neck of an officer who was abducted by the mob that day. He later confessed on video to the FBI and pleaded guilty for his crimes.”

Rodriguez, who was arrested in March 2021, was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison in June 2023.

“Why does he deserve a pardon?” Alexander asked.

Initially, Trump had no answer.

“Well, I don’t know,” he said. “Was it a pardon? Because we are looking at commutations and we’re looking at pardons.”

Alexander affirmed that it was a pardon.

“OK, well we’ll take a look at everything,” Trump replied, even though the pardon of Rodriguez cannot be rescinded.

This, of course, comes as no surprise. Felon 47 whipped it out without thinking and consequences are following. The only surprise this time is how soon the consequences are coming.

But, hey, what does he have to worry about. The republicans in Congress have already said twice that he should face consequences at trial, not via impeachent. When the competent authorities tried to try him, those same publicans decided that the proper venue, all of a sudden, was impeachment after all. Again, but, hey, what does he have to worry about. The Supreme Court already said he can’t be prosecuted for this.

Fuck it. The United Sttes of America began, not as a Christian nation as these retrolicans pretend it did, but as a product of the Englightenment. And we are no longer even close to those impressive and important ideals for all of humanity.

We are now no different than any other petty absolute dictatorship run by an incompetent. We do not have an enlightened despot in the highest office in the land. We have a deplorable despot.

When (not if) one of Trump’s pardonees murders someone, the Democrats had damn well better shout his victim’s name to high heaven and remind the media at every opportunity that Trump saw fit to turn them loose on the American people.

I’m sure the MAGA response will be that the victim wasn’t blameless and it’s not even comparable to the millions of illegal immigrant murderers and rapists that Biden let in.

The first consequence, of course, is that that reporter will be disinvited from future press conferences.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that executive order crafted as though an 8-year old wrote it? It seems to me that the wording of the EO applies to any crimes whatsoever committed “in the vicinity of the Capitol” on January 6, 2021. That could include murder.

Oh, and I guess it also includes pardoning Captain Byrd. Aren’t the cultists still accusing him of murder on that date in the Capitol?

I’ve seen some speculation that at least parts of some of his EOs have apparently been written by ChatGPT. If true, it would explain things such as this and how Trump’s order on gender declared that all Americans are now legally female.

It’ll be bittersweet if the reason these things get overturned in court is because they’re sloppily written.

Can you point me toward this one? I’m excited to learn about my new gender identity.

Just in case anyone thinks the far whright will make any distinctions now they’ve been emboldened by Felon 47, here’s a “should’ve seen it coming a mile away” moment as reported by AOL.

KKK distributes flyers in Kentucky telling immigrants to ‘leave now’

&

The flyers show a cartoon of Uncle Sam kicking at a family of five, including a baby and two young children. Uncle Sam is holding a document which says “Proclamation” and states: “We need your help. Monitor and track all immigrants. Report them all.”

Add this to the anti-DEI notification requirements and, yep, we now have our very own Stasi.

What do you know? Trump does like cops after all. Criminal cops. From Yahoo:

Trump pardons DC officers convicted in death and cover up

President Donald Trump has issued a “full and unconditional pardon” to Washington, DC, police lieutenant Andrew Zabavsky and officer Terence Sutton for their roles in the death of 20-year-old Karon Hylton-Brown, a case that drew protests on the heels of the murder of George Floyd.

In October 2020, Sutton and Zabavsky of the Metropolitan Police Department spotted Hylton-Brown driving a moped helmetless and pursued him at high speeds until he was eventually struck and killed by an uninvolved motorist.

And by criminal cops, I mean convicted of murder cops.

Sutton was found guilty of second-degree murder, conspiracy to obstruct, and obstruction of justice and sentenced to 66 months in prison.

Within hours of taking office on Monday, Donald Trump released a raft of executive orders addressing targets he’d gone after throughout his campaign, such as immigration, government spending, and DEI…

The executive order, titled “Ending the Weaponization of the Federal Government,” opens by stating as fact that the Biden administration and its allies used the government to take action against political opponents. Democrats, it says, “engaged in an unprecedented, third-world weaponization of prosecutorial power to upend the democratic process.” Its stated purpose, to establish “a process to ensure accountability for the previous administration’s weaponization of the Federal Government against the American people,” reads like a threat. The order calls out particular targets, including the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission—agencies that Trump and his supporters allege betrayed them under President Joe Biden. Trump’s team, led by whoever is appointed attorney general and director of national intelligence, will be sniffing out what it determines to be signs of political bias. These officials will be responsible for preparing reports to be submitted to the president, with recommendations for “appropriate remedial actions.”

Put another way: In an executive order suggesting that Biden’s administration weaponized the government, Trump is laying out how his administration could do the same.

This is so much worse than the first time. Because now he knows the ropes. And he knows he can get away with anything.

They are definitely going to try to rewrite history. Investigations of January 6 and the 2020 election will find that the election was rigged and Trump really won and J6 was just patriots trying to right a wrong. They don’t even have to worry about all the other elements of the insurrection since they have been effectively memory-holed already. Phone call? What phone call?

Yep. “Tell us if anyone in your agency is NOT doing what we want or there will be consequences.”

As I mentioned in the birthright citizenship thread, that policy has the effect of constructively mandating health care providers and nonfederal civil registry clerks to ask and record people’s nationality and immigration status.

So yes, it’s the elements for the creation of a government/institutionality of informants.

Which “consequences” are those? A few Republicans expressing mild disagreement? Call me when they actually do something substantive.

All the other complaints are coming from people Trump hates, and who he will not listen to, so they’re of even less consequence than the mild disagreements of a few Republicans.

Not only that, it turns out her name is pronounced kə-mah’-lah.
