On the interesting side-membership has gone up in many of the unions that represent federal and state workers. I don’t know how much it will help, but it can’t hurt, right?
I think Trump is throwing a whole bunch of shit up against the wall. We get overwhelmed trying to clean up the huge messes that we don’t notice or have time for the little messes. Then, when we’re tired from all of the work, we don’t even bother trying to clean up the new shit.
Last night on British radio they played a clip of Bannon from back in…20xx??.. saying the phrase ‘flood the zone’ so the media can’t cover everything. Still holds true.
Trump has said that his preferred management style (if you can call it that) is to create chaos. Long before he became president. He thinks good shit will rise to the top of the churning cauldron of regular shit. I don’t have a citation handy, but surely I’m not the only one who remembers this.
If the increase in dues collected by the union allows them to engage in more (and more vigorous) legal battles to push back on the bullshit, then it’s absolutely a good thing.
If you fail to make that left turn there, you end up in a bad place, so ShitGibbon regards Albuquerque as a non-existent place (he does not know how to go left).
Remember all those top secret documents Trump stole and refused to return? The ones he flaunted in front of guests? The ones kept on a stage in the ‘Ballroom’, the ones that got moved multiple times, the ones stored in a bathroom that happened to have a copy machine?
The ones that belong in the National Archives? Yeah, those.
Hmmm. Management Style? Or is chaos a condition that occurs where ever you go, and what ever you do? Sort of like the ‘style’ of Mar-A-Lago and your Manhattan penthouse.
NIH grant freeze and overhead reduction rescinded (temporarily at least). They decided to follow the court order. The fact that this was ever in question is mind-boggling to me.
There’s no leap day so his only “out” is “maybe not this particular year”. Dunno if this travel is supposed to be secret but pounds to crumpets it’ll be the next 16 days. And he best have that KCIII invite. Then he’ll stay on Trumps “good side” though certainly not Musk’s.
ETA: BBC reminds that Feb 22 is 3 years of Putin’s War and Trump is meeting Putin in Saudi Arabia. Smells like a Nobel Peace Prize for the two of them.
I always understood that to mean that he does it intentionally. That he deliberately sets his staff against each other and provokes infighting and war. Somehow he believes that all of this fighting and sparring and animosity will produce some wonderful new phoenix thing. Also, by setting them at each other’s throats, it prevents them from banding together against him.
When people work together and get along, it makes him feel weak. He’s not the center of attention anymore.
I don’t think they give a fuck about the TRO. Someone just probably told them it’s a bad look to disrupt cancer research, and many in some other cases, a few worried members of Congress told them that funding cuts might not be so popular back in their districts.
