“The Tyranny of Morning People”

Yeah; that’d be easy. We live in a two bedroom apartment with the kitchen / living room in the middle. So nothing but a flimsy interior door and 20 feet of air separate sleeping her from the e.g. dishwasher. The other bedroom is mostly our office, so I could do admin crap or print out paperwork, but now that I’m retired it’s amazing how little of that actually needs doing.

During the times of year it’s warm enough at sunrise (i.e. over 80) I slip out the front door almost directly from bed and go to the beach for a few hours. Solves both our problems.

I agree. I’ve known “morning people” who just seem to assume that everyone falls asleep at the same time they do. So when they nod off around ten and wake up at six, they got a full eight hours of sleep.

But when they see somebody else getting up at nine, they assume that person also fell asleep around ten the night before and slept for eleven hours. They can’t seem to see the possibility that the reason that person is waking up three hours later than them is because they went to sleep three hours later.
