The Ultimate Blues Mix

Ok, let’s build a blues mix. A few rules should be included.

1.) No more than 15 songs.
2.) Only one song per artist, unless duets are included. For example, one song from Clapton, one song from B.B. King, one song from Clapton & B.B. King.

That’s it. Have at it!

T bone Walker - Stormy monday
John Lee Hooker - boogie chillin’
albert king -crosscut saw
Otis Rush - I can’t quit you baby
Robert Johnson - Dust my broom
Blind Lemon Jefferson- Rambler blues
Blind Willie McTell - broke down engine

Don’t have time right now to make a full list, but I’d recommend something by Robert Cray … maybe “Night Patrol” or “Smoking Gun”

Sky is Crying…Stevie Ray
Just got back from Baby’s…ZZ Top
Red House…Jimi

No time to finish, I actually have to do some work!!

Will try to make it back later…

Wish I was a Catfish…

Whatever mix you do, the last song should be Gary Moore’s “Still Got the Blues (for you).” What a classic piece of guitar work!

Otis Redding’s “Dock of the Bay” ought to be tucked in there somewhere as well.

Though not a traditional blues tune, I would also include Satchmo’s take of “What a Wonderful World.”

B B King and Stevie Ray “Matchbox Blues”
Muddy Waters “Champagne and Reefer”

and a newer band…maybe not your traditional blues band…but Black Keys…they do a wonderful song called “Busted”

I was going to suggest this one! Saw Moore perform a couple of years ago and really love his work.

I’ll add:
Led Zeppelin’s I’m Gonna Crawl

Fenton Robinson’s *Somebody Loan Me a Dime *
