Democrats may not have Congress or the White House, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have power. I’m not really talking about obstruction vs. cooperation here. But actually advancing Democratic priorities.
Mitch McConnell has pledged that Democrats will get full minority rights in the Senate and since 2015 he has mostly kept that promise. He might be tempted to renege now that Democrats can actually stop stuff from getting passed at the Senate level, but assuming he does keep his promise, and that Democrats can get enough signatures on petition resolutions to get House votes, what are some things they can still do that are worthwhile? We are also assuming for argument’s sake that Trump is his own man and will sign or not sign bills based on his own ideas, not necessarily what the Republican leadership would like to see.
