The Vagina Monologues: Off Broadway play.

Yes I know the name is slightly risqué, but I saw this off broadway play last night and couldn’t help but notice Margot Kidder was pretty good for having been diagnosed insane at one point.
To read more about it you can go to the Theater’s website and check it out. Anyone see it in New York? How was it there? Incase no one knows Margot Kidder, she also has gone by the name Lois Lane and was quite fond of a certain superhero…

I saw it in Toronto a few years ago. My favourite part was reclaiming cunt. It was actually very funny play.

I cried my eyes out (in laughter) at the tampon part. The actress doing it at that time (in Boston) was the black lady who played in Hannibal, the first scene where she gets killed with her baby in the carrier on her stomach… if anybody recalls her.
I very much enjoyed the show.

http://events.vday.org/search.php is a good link if you want to find a local production (for Dopers in smaller cities). A lot of colleges are doing productions.

I read the book about a year ago and I plan to attend a local production this year.

I saw the HBO version. Eh.

So, don’t leave us in the dark! DO we get to see any vaginas speaking their monologues?

I’m IN the show! I’ve been encouraging virtually everyone I meet to definitely try to find a production to go to this Valentine’s day; the proceeds from the show will go to benefit a local charity devoted to women and children. I love being a part of the show, and it’s hysterically funny, sad and sweet.

Krokodil–The HBO version is enh. Try a live show

So, like, does this show have an actual plot, or is it just the cheapest shot yet to draw an audience? - Jinx

Jinx it isn’t a show per se. It’s a spoken word event usually with a several speakers. It’s about violence towards women, about self-esteem, etc. Using the term Vagina is uh, integral to the subject matter. Eve Ensler can draw an audience all on her own, no cheap shot needed. Read my links for more info.
