The Vampire Chronicles

Anne Rice has always been a favourite author of mine, basically I think I like the idea of the whole world of the Immortals, but thats not really what this post is about.

Im currently reading Blackwood Farm a novel about a newly made vampire called Tarquinn Blackwood and his friendship Lestat.

Several times in this novel, Ive come across references to the other books in the chronicles, namely Memnoch the Devil & The Vampire Armand, and I was wondering, does anybody know the exact order the chronicles should be wrote in so that theyare in come sort of chronological order?

And I know its pretty easy to open up the inside cover to any of her books and get a full list if what she has published, but I specifically wanted to know about the stories that are intertwined.

Like, Vittorio, The Vampire isnt involved yet it is an Anne Rice Vamprire novel. Understand what I mean?

Id like to reread the books (Ive read most) again, but this time in there proper order.

Can anyone help?

The thirs paragraph, the word should be read, not wrote, oops, and sorry for the various typos, really should reread what Ive wrote!

Let’s see here…

Interview with the Vampire
The Vampire Lestat
Queen of the Damned
Tale of the Body Theif
Memnoch the Devil
The Vampire Armand

and then Vittorio and Pandora, I believe, are vampire novels but not part of the VampChron. I’m not sure about Blood and Gold…I know it’s the story of Marius, but I don’t know where it fits in. Blood Canticle, as far as I can tell, is an interweaving of the VampChron and the Mayfield Witch series.

Perhaps someone can correct me or give better details.

You can always check her website for more details.

I love the Vampire chronicles and I’m currently on the latest in the series…just after the Blackwood farm one. It is best if they are read in the correct order but not necessarily. Every book tells its own story, vaguely relating to the others. Memnoch the Devil was the most intriguing for me…and the most emotional was Blackwood Farm. Very different from the other novels:D

Thanks for the help on this one…

You were right Buckleberry that is the order of those books, and the website was great Tapioca as it separates each sets of work, and then puts them into chronological order. Thanks for the link:)

And yes Teardrop, your right, the books are better read in the correct order, and for the most part I have done just that, I read Blood Canticle last week, and am almost now finished Blackwood Farm. They are both good books, but not as good as there earlier works I think.
