The view from my kid's dorm room.

I just dropped daughter #1 off for her freshman year in college. I thought I would be sad dropping her off, but I’m not sad, I’m jealous. She drew a great roommate, one of her best friends is in the same dorm, and on the lawn in front of her building the marching band and pom squad are practicing. She absolutely hit the jackpot with her room, too.

Check out her view taken on my phone less than two hours ago.

This is the University of Colorado - Boulder.

Nice! That is one beautiful, majestic parking lot.

There’s flatirons in them there hills. Beautiful view. Lucky gal!

Heh, look at what I get when I google “flatirons.”

I read that as porn squad and thought “no wonder you’re jealous” and “what a progressive college!”.

“Gimme an ‘O’!”

The view from my freshman year dorm room at the University of Pittsburgh was over towards the hospitals of what was then the University Health Center. Actually it wasn’t a bad view at all for a girl looking forward to big-city living… but the Medivac helicopters coming in and out sometimes made my room feel like the set of MAS*H :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s a beautiful view!

Yea you’d pretty much hear the copters a lot down at Pitt

I had a view of Mt Denali from my college dorm room. When it wasn’t obscured by ice fog, that is.

Could you see Russia from the other side?

If it weren’t for the cars I would have sworn you photoshopped that.

Man, that’s amazing.

I mean, what a dump!

Huh. My dorm-room view in my first year was of the parking lot in front of the building. It was not scenic. I did get to witness a lot of drunken people getting out of cabs having drunken fights and drunken make-out sessions with drunken partners after drunken evenings. And when the fire alarms were pulled, I had a great view of the firefighters. (Who were not drunk.) (I think.) (I hope.) We gauged whether or not there was a fire by how quickly they ran.

What? Six stories is nothing to sneeze at in the middle of winter, when it’s -15C and there’s two feet of snow on the ground!

The view from my dorm room last year was the inside of a pine tree.

Of course, outside the pine tree was our ugly sixties dining hall, so I guess I shouldn’t whine.

That’s exactly what I thought!

Beautiful view there. I spent a summer once in Boulder and loved it, the only issue I had was the altitude which sometimes caused headaches. But otherwise a beautiful place full of hot hippies and great beer.

Nice. I just spent 2 weeks in Boulder. It’s a great place,

You know, for a Chicago based message board, there sure seems to be a lotta Coloradoans here.

wow. my first year of college, my dorm window looked straight into the windows of the office building next door.

Here’s what I get.

I actually took this photo yesterday!

I wouldn’t want to be there when that sleeping giant wakes up.
