The Walking Dead; 7.12 "Say Yes" (open spoilers)

Hey. I’m starting to think that Rick and Michonne kind of like each other.
I know. It’s a wild theory but bear with me here.
I offer as proof of my wild theory the fact that those two seem to be sucking face, giving longing looks to each other, and constantly screwing an awful lot.
In fact I’m guessing that pretty much of this entire episode was used to playfully hint that they have some kind of relationship.
Maybe in future episodes we will be seeing this stuff over and over and over again so that we know it to be a fact instead of a theory

Yeah, that made no sense to me, either.

(post shortened)

Or maybe he was taken by the Saviors??? Another insider might come in handy when the big confrontation takes place.

Did anyone notice how they were tied, cable ties or rope? Cable ties would be the army, perhaps.

One possible explaination would be an ambush. These soldier walkers were escorting/guarding the hands-tied prisoner walkers when the assult began. The walker soldiers, with their rifles still slung, were the first to die. This was followed by a running firefight, but neither side survived to return for the weapons and stores. The rest of the walkers were carnival workers, roustabouts, and rubes who died during the assault. The carnival fence kept the walkers from wandering away, and no one had stumbled upon the carnival until Rick and Michonne arrived. Or not.

Even in an ambush at least some soldiers would be able to draw their weapons, I was thinking poison.

Meh, at best.

The time would have been much better spent slowly revealing (or at least Rick and Michonne developing a hypothesis) why those weapons were slung and those hands tied. As evidenced by the number of posts here about it, that was the thing that grabbed everyone’s attention.

And that spent brass that Rick picked up was fresh. Maybe not “still smells like powder fresh,” but that casing didn’t have 3 years of oxidation on it for sure.

I think that was from the zombie that was accidentally firing their gun.

Poison is another good possibility. I’m suggesting that the walker soldiers who still had their weapons slung over their shoulder could have been killed in an initial fusillade. Others would have been able to return fire, and advance or retreat away from the carnival area.

But why would either side not return for the MREs and weapons in a walker apocalypse? I suggest it’s because no one who knew what was located there, and/or where it was located, survived the firefight.

The Rick and Michonne chemistry is less awkward at least. When they first started it seems like someone had a gun to their head.

Since Michonne can effortlessly kill zombies with her sword there’s not much reason for elaborate trickery to take down a spread out group. Just kill them all. Then I start thinking about how they don’t wear anti-zombie clothing or how they don’t make spears. Also it’s odd that two people can kill like 40 zombies just by hiding behind rails but the military folded.

I’m guessing if Negan dies he’ll be beat to a pulp with Lucille. Karmic death and all that. Or maybe Lucille will be smashed and Negan will turn into a shell of himself.

The in-universe explanation is probably that the military people hadn’t yet realized that it’s the head that is crucial to disable (by removal or bullet or spear-through-the-brain).

This show likes its gross-outs. I’d bet on some variation of ‘impalement-on-Lucille-through-the-intestinal-tract’ (either entry, or more-likely, exit).

Usually in zombie apocalypse stories they either have never heard of zombies or at the very least they are not in the middle of a zombie fad like we are. The military loses because they are not shooting down sick people indiscriminately, and until things become extremely dire sick people is how we would see zombies if we had never heard of them before. How long would it take before people got to the “Welp grandma is sick, lets shoot her right in her stupid face” stage? my bet is there wouldn’t be any real military by then.

That has always been the most infuriating aspect of the show, for me. The military should be able to handle zombies fairly easily. After a few well-placed bullets to the center mass failed to work, it would be a simple matter to adjust your shooting tactics and aim for the head. Then send out a memo alerting everyone of this nifty trick. Problem solved! Plus, a tank (or any big truck) could just squish the hell outta the dumb things…

I had to groan when they conveniently found unopened MRE’s that was so dumb.
OMG the deer… run Bambi run
My husband gave up on the show 2 episodes ago … I am still watching but I think I could honestly wait for a Sunday marathon at this point.

On talking dead…No ones heard of chili mac and cheese? really I never ate it but have heard of it.

I love me a good sex scene but really got sick of those 2 rabbits…really go home check on your 2 kids Rick.

Meh episode. I wondered if maybe the leader of the scavengers is some sort of high-functioning autistic or savant or something. We really haven’t heard enough dialogue from the rest of the group to know that they all use the same speech patterns away from the group dynamics. Rick sure seems to forget he has a toddler back at home. “Let’s just stay out another few days”. And what about Carl? After his big field trip to the [del]zoo[/del] Saviors compound, we haven’t seen anything from him.

StG

I think someone’s gonna grab that club and split Negan’s head in two.
You picked a fine time to cleave me, Lucille…
mmm

One of us, one of us.

I would go with Vlad the impaler. Despite the picture, the wood was stuck up their ass.

I think he will go into Morgan’s cage.

Nah that zombie wasn’t fingering the trigger. He was walking next to a truck with some pipe or conduit and rifle slung low when a pipe inserted through the trigger guard.

Also the zombie had an M16. The spent case was larger. I thought it might have been a 7.62, but it looked bigger to me.
