The Walking Dead; 8.10 "The Lost and the Plunderers" (open spoilers)

Ross Marquand (Aaron) and Executive Producer Robert Kirkman are on Talking Dead.

This might have been the best episode of the season so far. I think the show realized that Rick has been a wild eyed loon for years and it leaning into it. I think Mustache guy is going to drive Negan more to the “good side” since Negan has good ideas but bad means. I liked how it was slip between characters. I liked the back story on Junk Girl and how she dropped the alien syntax when push came to shove (I said a long time ago that weird talking was just tribalism). I would have liked Rick to forgive her but I refer you back to the wild eyed loon description.

I liked this one. I liked Negan being taken aback hearing about Carl’s death. I liked Miss Jadis’ whole segment and the bizarre zombie-grinding machine. I am wondering why Rick and Michonne were trying to put out the fire as the gazebo was buring. Did I miss something?

I thought they said something about it being Carl’s favorite place to relax or something of that nature, so they tried to save it in his memory.

I really did enjoy this episode - it was put together like a Tarantino movie with the different segments focused on each character. Seeing both Jadis and Negan act so different than what we’re used to seeing was a treat.

The Oceanside story is lacking though…can’t understand Aaron wanting to stay behind when they almost killed him.

I thought I heard them say Carl sat on top of the gazebo. I don’t remember that.
Boy Negan was taken aback by Ricks news. He really laid it on about it being Ricks fault Carl was dead.
And seriously, Michonne needs a bath. They all do. Surely there’s a creek or pond somewhere. It must smell ratchet in the apocolypse. Nobody bathing, no sanitary way to go potty and dead people walking around everywhere. I wouldn’t last a week like that. No need for me to have a survival plan. I couldn’t live with out showers and toilets. I like things to smell nice. Just go ahead and let me die.
And Aaron and Enid, what the hell are they trying to do, they’ve already got a sea peoples guns, why drag them out only to have to feed and guard them.
And I have another issue. Of all the people in Alexandria are the ones hiding in the drain pipe all that’s left? Seems like Carl could’ve fit more people in there. Rosita, Daryl, Tara, Judith, the new Dr. Guy, and Dwight. Rick and Michonne came later. Not very many.

There’s always some extra background characters to bring out when someone needs killing, i think it was like three truck fulls that escaped.

I thought for sure Jadis was gonna jump into the grinder after it chewed up all the garbage zombies.

Why was she wearing just a slip? did they rape her?

I thought that too. She looked alittle put upon, other than Rick leaving her.
I hope she’s the one who kills Simon.

Makes me wonder about “feminine hygiene” in a zombie apocalypse.

And I like Simon. He’s one of my favorites on the show. And I think it’s cool that the character that he voiced in “Grand Theft Auto V” was based off of his appearance.

Yea, Simon is a good character but I see the writing on the wall. He’s gone.
I think Maggie is gonna leave too.

Have they built up crotch calluses, do you think? If I go 2 days on one set o’ boxers I start chafing. And I’m quite a bit north of Georgia.

I was surprised when she didn’t. Also what’s the connection between her and the helicopter? A dump doesn’t just happen to have a helipad so her people must built it.

Years ago, Joan Rivers came right out and asked the women on ‘Survivor’ what they did for feminine hygiene purposes (I think they were allowed to bring only toothbrushes). They said they ate so little, their periods just stopped. Lack of calories will do that, for anorexics, ballet dancers, and I am sure many of our little shivering chihuahua actresses in Hollywood. People on the show look pretty thin and stringy, eating is a worrisome thing for most. You can grow tomatoes and carrots and such, but there is no pizza, no Olive Garden, everyone doing manual labor of some sort. Carol made cookies out of acorn flour and beets, for chrissakes.
.

Remember how Rick saw the helicopter last season.

Simon is an asshole.
I hope it hurts.

I know he plays an asshole, but he acts the part great. I love to hate him. Negan overacts his character IMO.
My favorite stupid doofus-asshole is Gregory.

I think things are looking up. First they got rid of Carl and now the trash people. I could not understand why anyone was too worried about them - they did not farm or provide anything so cut them off and let them fend for themselves. The same is true of the ocean-side group.

And although I am glad that Simon killed more than one of them, I think Negan is going to be really upset.

Trash-dump people provided Art.
So important in apocalyptic times.
Also they seemed adept with sewing avant-garde unisex clothing. Can’t get enough of those.

My Wife likes the actor that plays Negan. It is a damn shame about that character in the comic books.
I’ve forgotten our comic book spoiler policy.
