The Walking Dead; 8.10 "The Lost and the Plunderers" (open spoilers)

I haven’t voted loved it in a long time, but I did for this one.

I thought it was great. The last two(I didn’t vote “love” last week, though) were much better.

I eagerly await 3-4 episodes of minimal plot development now. To offset the quality we have had.

Yea, I hear the spoilers all the time from my son. A bunch are incorrect, but he insists on telling me.
The lil’wrekker loooovvvvveees Negan.

It’s pretty simple: Don’t post plot details from the comics.

I’ve been reading the comics since before there was a TV show, so I know exactly what the differences are, and I have a fair idea of how the current storyline will turn out. But I shut up about it because there is absolutely no valid reason to be talking about it here. It’s spoilers for the TV show. All of it.

It’s OK to mention differences that are widely known, like Carl not being dead, Daryl not existing at all, etc. But anything that touches on character development or storylines is a big fat STFU.

I think the Comics have diverged enough that they only lay out the broad strokes of what the show may or may not do. I think hiding them or being vague about them is more a courtesy for people reading the comics than watching the TV show. But I agree they should be considered spoilers. It’s just not as hard and fast a rule as, say Game of Thrones was.

Well keep in mind that even if they are not spoilers for the show you are still spoiling the shit out of the comic books.

This was one of the best episodes in a long time, IMO. Things actually happened. The plot actually developed. And the meat grinder scene was awesome.

Still, if Rick does another stupid thing like walking into the Garbage Goth’s camp with just Michone as back-up, I hope he gets bitten and dies a horrible death. We also learned that Garbage Goth Speak was a complete fabrication by Jadis. I guess we can say that was smart in that it made her enemies think she was stupider than she actually was.

I’m still waiting for this damn war to just be over so the writers can (hopefully) move on to better things.

Difficult to believe.

I’m not sure if you are just agreeing with me but that was actually my point

This made me so angry. Fire Extinguishers are a finite resource! What a waste!

Overall a fine episode.

There sure seemed to be a lot of dead garbage people. So dumb to give up their guns.

They waste a lot of things. Negan put an axe into the table of the RV. I suppose they can find a replacement top, but laminate won’t be made again in their lifetimes.

I was waiting for the garbage people to shoot all the saviors. Guess that didn’t happen. Didn’t she have another pair of shoes to walk around in?

Simon does kinda have a point, stop wasting time and energy on these people and move on. Of course he did have to go and kill everyone.

Zombie pate’.

That Simon…he’s creepy.

Simon disobeyed a direct order from Negan. He needlessly killed off resources (the Garbage People), and used up limited ammo to kill unarmed opponents. Simon’s choices are limited. A) He either kills Negan and takes over the Saviors, or B) rounds up any willing Saviors and heads for parts unknown, or C) finds out what it means to dance with Lucille.

Jadis still has her wits about her. She was able to trap her dead followers with the meat-O-matic. But what happens to her now? No one who knows her will trust her. I assume there is still a large number of stores hidden within the trash heaps. Maybe she could trade with Negan for place to stay?

Aaron’s decision to stay near Oceanside is interesting. Rounding up new recruits is sort of his thing. OTOH, Oceanside doesn’t like strangers, men, or anyone from Rick’s group. Best of luck Aaron. Maybe he’ll find Heath?

Who is Heath? I think Jadis will get with Seasiders.

Heath is the black guy with glasses who was out exploring with Tara before they got separated and Tara was found by the Oceansiders.

This guy.

This was better than last weeks episode, but that’s a low bar. I voted Meh.

They have to loose the useless artsy stuff, it is totally wrong for this show. For seven and a half seasons we have moved from character to character, group to group without needing their names writ large on the screen.

And for the Saviors to have expended so much ammo on Alexandria, they sure left it pretty intact. Rick’s house looked like the maid had been by to tidy up. And the only reason, was so Michonne could see the hand prints I predicted would have burned - that should have burned. Hell even the gate was still standing. Pretty crappy execution of a scorched earth policy.

And I get the definite feeling we are about to enter another phase of being too fond of the actor to do away with the character as reason demands with Jadis. Drop the ridiculous speech pattern nobody could stand, have Simon drop a casual reference about a helipad and solar panels, and suddenly there will be a whole bunch of crap totally out of character for her. They’ll construct some poorly thought out backstory to morph her into basically a totally different character.
