The Weekly RO Post: Kidneys

True. But then why didn’t bitch boss fire her BEFORE getting a kidney? And if boss was gonna fire her but waited until after getting one that makes the boss a cold, calculationg bitch.

PS I reserve the right to find boss totally in the clear if such evidence that she had very good reasons for doing what she did should emerge.

That actually sounds like a fair exchange - “I give you a kidney, you give me a job for as long as the kidney lasts.” Quid pro quo and all that.

One possibility that comes to mind is that 1)some grumbler alleged that Stevens was getting unfair “special treatment” in the amount of recuperation time she was taking and 2)Brucia dealt with the situation cravenly, passing the shit along to Stevens rather than dealing with it herself. If so, perhaps what she really needed was a spine transplant.

I admit that there’s no way to ever know for sure – even if she comes out and says so, there’d be no way to know if it’s the truth or simply an attempt to cover asshole behavior with a (relatively) sympathetic excuse.

Same here, and this time the surgery would be with a dull kitchen knife and NO anesthesia.

Weren’t they both recuperating at the same time? If the boss fired her for not returning to work before the boss returned to work herself, that seems pretty devoid of empathy to me.

There is some misunderstanding about how management job creators think. The boss had necessary life-saving surgery, without which she would die. The employee was engaged in elective surgery that was not necessary to save her life and in fact led to weight loss (weight of a kidney) and reduction in productivity. Deliberately. No good Randian employer wants an employee who is so altruistic that it results in down time. Unless that employee has already donated the necessary kidney. Besides, do you know how much more health insurance benefits an employee with only one kidney may need?

Who really wants an employee around who is going to be a living, walking reminder of not only how saintly they are, but what a self-centered turd they themselves are? Hmmm? And I bet it set an excellent example to the other employees about abusing sick leave.

Maybe she figured it was better to give it up voluntarily and have it removed in hospital rather than have her boss decide to kidnap her and take it out herself with a knife.

“But cousin…why a spoon?”
“BECAUSE IT’S DULL YOU TWIT! IT’LL HURT MORE!”

You are aware that Randianism is just a mind hack to allow you to do immoral things, right? Why would knowing how the boss thinks change my assessment of how morally depraved she is?

And, no, I will not call it Objectivism. I’ll gladly call the practices of, sy, Pro-lifers and Tea Partiers by their preferred names, but not that immoral hunk of shit.

Yes, I am well aware of that. You my BigT, have been whooshed. Unintentionally. I thought the sarcasm was clear.

I thought it was clear and very clever.

Great quote! <cheering>
