The golden looks to me like a pretty special dog. I’m kind of rooting for him (her?)
That Puli looks like a walking fringe!
Yeah, the English Springer didn’t make the cut! We wuz robbed!!!
Golden retriever, how boring. Everybody goes nutz over them. Springers are so underappreciated!!
(Why no, I’m not biased. Just ask Phyllis and Dottie here.)
I like the dog that won, too.
That was a stunning Rottweiler, just about brought tears to my eyes. He was being handled by his owner/breeder, which is real uncommon. Naturally I’m biased, since I’ve had Rotties since 1986 - my two were on the couch watching with me.
But, I’m glad the Rottweiler didn’t win BIS. The breed is in enough trouble and doesn’t need any more publicity.
I was rooting for Margot the Deerhound. But the Bull Terrier that won - who couldn’t love that face!
YAY for Rufus!
I was on pins and needles for the final decision. My mantra was as long as it isn’t the dalmation, I don’t care.
My choice:
Rottweiler
Bull Terrier
Deerhound
Pug
Herding dog
Golden
Dalmation

Westminster is my Superbowl!!!
…although my dog is not proof of them being underappreciated. I hope yours are. Apparently a Golden has never won the WKC. But you know, rooting for US Steel and all. There were a lot of really typical breeds (or that was how I saw it) in the final. A Golden, a Pug, a Rottweilers, a Dalmatian and an Olde English Sheepdog? I guess I would’ve liked a little more exotic-ness, but I don’t claim to know anything about breed standards. I just like looking at the dogs.
Once they got to Best in Show, I was pulling for the Deerhound and the Dalmatian.
Which was exactly why he won! Poor Mr. Ujest!
And, Rufus is a raw fed dog!
Like quite a few show dogs, doesn’t eat kibble (and certainly not Purina, ugh, nasty.)
