 Yikes, sorry to mention her!! How much do you hate Sandra Lee and her semi-homemade?
ETA: I can’t resist asking if you can describe why you hate Rachael Ray so much?

The sound of Rachel Ray’s scratchy, raw voice feels as if the grim reaper himself has slid his dry, bony hand up through my rectum and clutched the very base of my spine and began to slowly twist counter clockwise.
Sandra Lee is no great shakes either. Has anyone ever enjoyed or appreciated her retarded tablescapes? The only consolation is that that lush probably has a fetish dungeon in her basement at home. Just a hunch.
Well, she grew up poor and abused and always had to borrow other people’s fetish dungeons. Can you blame her for building herself one now that she’s made the big time?
I hated that show, for that reason. Sure you can make a meal faster if you are willing to pay twice as much for stuff that the store already prepared for you.
She really doesn’t use that many prepared ingredients. She’s really fast at chopping, and SOMEBODY ELSE IS CLEANING UP AFTER HER. Everything she grabs is right in front; she doesn’t have to dig through the fridge for that hunk o’cheese, or move stuff out of the way in the pantry to find that can of diced tomatoes.
I clean as I go in my kitchen, and I like to have a mise-en-place ready, instead of “chopping and dropping.” I use a lot of her ideas, if not her exact recipe.
Have you noticed that all of these shows always have a fresh head of garlic every time? And the meat is always wrapped without that absorbent pad to catch the blood. And the meat is perfectly trimmed.
What I really want to see, and I don’t think it will happen, is a blooper show. I think it would be a riot! They show a few outtakes of that 5 ingredient girl’s show at the end of it. i don’t think it will happen, because TFN doesn’t want us to ever get an inkling that these cooks make mistakes. I think it would have the opposite effect, and show us that it’s ok to goof up, just keep going.
Like Julia Child! Bon Appetit!
Dan Aykroyd and SNL rendered every blooper reel superfluous years ago.
