It goes on to explain that a fellow deportee, had given the gun to the child to “scare” (that’s what he told the child) Diaz Rodriguez. The perp then went back to pick up the gun before the police arrived.
Word is that it was a drug-related dispute, and that since he would not be able to get close to the victim, he used the child to do the deed (the kid had no idea what he was doing). There is also a chance that the perp thought that since the child would not be punished (other than a stern talking to a possibly time out) and the perp did not hold the gun he was not liable for it. If he did think that he is really stupid. Besides the murder, now he is on the hook for endangering the child and probably a bunch of stuff more.
Anyway, it sucks for the child, but since both victim and perpetrator seem to have been to be up to no good, I found it mildly amusing. Let’s see if somebody dares to steal this kid’s lunch money now.
