the worst blow to civilization?

The master, Cecil Adams, says in this column Why isn’t there a Channel One on TV?

I think the word arguably is appropriate. I personally propose “Three’s Company.”

Springer, enough said?

Paully Shore.

Seriously? Commericals and commercialism.

Not seriously? Crap from the 70s that people just won’t LET DIE!!! (Abba, John Travolta, Scooby Doo, the Brady empire, anything Osmond, pig stupid pants to wear with big stupid shoes). Well, maybe fake nostalgia in general, nostalgia turned into

commercials.

Oh, well. We can always make more killbots.

Hey, I kind of liked Mr. Roper. My choice? Howard Stern.

I think I’ll suggest something with a little more impact on our lives than television, namely, the SDMB. This is truly the worst blow to our little civilization.

Of course. What is so despicable in “Three’s company” is the appalling charade by the three roommates of pretending that Jack Tripper is gay, for the sole purpose of deceiving a series of innocent and well-meaning landlards and thereby striking a crippling blow against judeo-christian morality.

Dan Quayle blamed Murphy Brown, but I know at whose door the fault lies.

landlards?! Heavens! of course I meant landlords. (Though I must admit, it seems to me that this new word I have coined does present interesting possibilities.)

Worst blow to civilization?

Gotta be Kathy Lee Gifford. (AAHHHH!!!)

I think it would have to be when a certain group came to power in a certain nation and destroyed the lives of countless millions, leaving scars on the people that will last for generations.

That’s right, the New Kids on the Block.

The IQ of a group is equal to the IQ of the dumbest member divided by the number of people in the group.

I was gonna say Monica Lewinsky, but then I thought better of it.

Oh.

UncleBeer, at first I thought you were taunting ChiefScott, but now I see the thread where he actually posted a smilie!

Jesus H. Christ! Is nothing sacred?

Arnold, I thought most people wouldn’t believe it and almost posted a link, but it’s in a thread I think is best left to die a natural death. There’s nothing to be said there that’s going to help the situation; it seemed to be spiraling out of control. I thought a link might just serve as a bellows to that little fire.

I regret that smiley already, Unca.
Smilies – The worst blow to civilization.

He thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

But no smilies.

The worst blow to civilization? Western IL Univ. food, but that’s just me. How about the guy who came up with the idea for the sequel. Some of them are good, but only a select few.

Stupid people surround themselves with smart people. Smart people surround themselves with smart people who disagree with them. - Isaac Jaffee (new quote)

I am shocked, shocked, shocked, that no one has maentioned “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”, the Superbowl half time show and , uh, cheese in a can.

You want brilliance BEFORE I’ve had my coffee!!!
