The worst movies that you liked.

Oh, God where do I even Begin?

Robot Jox, Arena, Days of Thunder, Mad Max (all three), Labyrinth…

I read somewhere that Meg Ryan and Hanks agreed it was the worst thing they’ve ever worked on.

I still love The Raven. Went so far as to special-order the VHS tape of if (pre-DVD days), which I still have. Not only do you get Lorre (who is a standout as a bumbling wizard who gets turned into the title raven) but also a wizardly duel between Vincent Price (as the good guy) and Boris Karloff (as the bad guy) plus a very young Jack Nicholson as the young hero.

Originally saw it as a teenager in the early 60s at one of those marathon Saturday matinee showings the local theater would run so moms could dump the kids there for babysitting while they did the week’s grocery shopping. Forty-plus years later, it’s still a campy hoot in my book.

When I was a kid I was crazy about “Pete’s Dragon.”

In retrospect, having seen it since, it’s not a very good kids’ movie at all. The dragon’s fun but the movie is hideously long and plodding.
