I’ve been playing music on my truck’s radio via BT from the Pandora on my phone. It’s been a real pain in the ass though, because every time I get in my truck, I have to pull my phone out of my pocket, unlock it, and then start the Pandora app.
I’ve been doing like this for months (ever since I bought the after market radio). Well, it turns out there is a Pandora setting on my radio. When I leave it on that setting, it starts the app automatically!
Wish I would have known that sooner!:smack:
Also, reading a recent thread started by Ivylass, apparently I can do screen captures with my Kindle Fire. I did not know that either.
Anyone else?
I use the Kodi media player for some of my viewing. It runs off a laptop waaay over there. points to computer 8 feet away
It was horrible having to get up off the couch and journey to the other laptop to put something on. Then, a friend told me about the built-in remote control. From any other computer on the network, punch the IP address of the media machine into a browser url bar to get this nifty remote. For a while there after a reboot, I’d have to go to the target PC to see its IP address before I figured out that I could simply use my wifi router’s ‘connected devices’ display. Laziness prevails!
I only recently learned that I can store some of my discount cards, membership cards, supermarket cards, etc. on my phone, and just wave it in front of the bar-code readers for my discount.
Others, like my library card, have RFID and can’t be used as images only.
I thought my phone had to be plugged in to the car to play music from iTunes but nope, it just automatically pairs (I’m new to the whole car-bluetooth thing).
I also didn’t realize I could tell my Amazon Echo to play the latest version of podcasts without setting up any podcast-server account (like one has to set up their Pandora or Spotify account). One day I just asked it to play a podcast I’d remembered liking and there it was with the latest episode.
If the garage door won’t go down because one of the sensors is out of whack, you can force it to go down by holding the button on the wall switch until the door goes all the way down. Twenty years in this house and I just figured this out a couple weeks ago.
You don’t need to screw the toothpaste cap all the way down until it seats. Just put the cap on and give it a half a turn, it will stay in place until the next time you open it.
Not me but a tradesman that came by to give me a price for some work on my chimney. Took a couple of photos with his iPhone, on the roof, to show me his concerns. When showing me, he was saying, ‘I don’t know if you can see it in his photo…’, and it WAS challenging to see what he was talking about! So I just reached over, using two fingers, enlarged the photo so you could see quite clearly.
The guy was stunned! Looked at me, for one minute, like I was a witch! Then announced he had no idea his phone could do that!
My car has one of those systems where it honks the horn when you’ve filled the tires to the correct pressure. Never knew it until I hopped out and left it running while I aired up a tire.
You know you’re old when you turn it on when you get in the car and forget by the time it warms up, and then you’re thinking, huh, this seat feels really warm?! :smack:
