The WWII film in Pink Floyd the Wall

I’ve been searching for this off and on… and unbelievably, I can’t find an answer! I give up… what is that film?

Considering adding “…most disappointing, we’ll have to go all out on making some modifications” to my SIG. But I’d have to give credit where due…

Which are you refering to the sound bites in the Album or the clips they show on the Television during the Film “The Wall”? They are two different films.

I recall hearing somewhere that the movie was called “Dambreakers.” It was about a plan to blow up a nazi dam and deprive them of power - very fitting in the context of “The Wall.”

If the movie used for the album is different, I’d want to know that one too.

InquisitiveIdiot’s answer was close enough for me to find it on IMDB. It’s “Dam Busters.” I can’t find it on any video format at Amazon, though :frowning:

So… how much mortar does it take the Germans to make a ton of steel?

It was, indeed, The Dambusters, a bit of a cult hit in England after the war, and inspiration for the climactic trench run in Star Wars. Might still be available in the UK.

For some strange reason, they renamed the dog for the American release.

What surprises me is that this is, by all accounts, a good film. I didn’t actually want to see it before, but now I do… this would be an interesting double-feature with The Wall.

Another look at IMDB reveals that it is available in the UK and in Germany (interesting, no?), but not in the states.

The car didn’t even stop…
