Crystal dice.
The crystal caste dice mentioned above are very pretty to look at, and their d4 does indeed make the standard pyramidal d4s look lame. However, I didn’t care for the rest of their long dice, and switched back to the regular polyhedrals after playing with the CCs for a while. Long ago, my DM used to use a d8 as a d4, and simply declared that every number rolled was halved, rounded up. He also used a d8 as a d7. If an 8 was rolled, then the die was re-rolled.
On the other hand, their gemstone dice are wonderful to look at and also a joy to play with. I have no idea how truly random they are, and I’m sort of scared to ask Zocchi, because I’m afraid that he’d tell me, in great detail, until I’m bleeding from the ears. I mean, I’m glad that he’s in the business, and he apparently enjoys it, but he’s just a little too enthusiastic for my tastes.
