Hey Mangetout: When it comes to rationality, maturity and intelligence, don’t knock before you try it.
You’ve got to think the whole thing through: maybe God needs you alive for a purpose more important than proving he exists (which He could probably do without your help, no offense). You’re like His unwitting James Bond. Maybe you’re going to cure cancer, or stop the next Hitler, or cure the cancer of the guy who’s going to stop the next Hitler.
See, I tried something similar when I declared that if God exists, he would send me a photo of himself holding today’s paper. I thought that settled it, but then it occurred to me that an omnipotent being wouldn’t even subscribe to a newspaper at all.

Seriously though, it just struck me as a tiny bit ironic that after two whole threads of this bollocks, you decided to lecture Garfield226 on how to be a grown up.
Omnitient, you mean. A merely omnipotent god still needs the newspaper (although arguably a merely omnipotent god has the power to make himself omnitient, which I think makes omnipotence paradoxical by itself, come to think of it.)
An omniscient being does not need a newspaper because it knows the news already.
An omnipotent being doesn’t need one either, because whatever it decides is the news, becomes the news.
I hear it a lot because my kids have special needs and I occasionally find myself in the company of people not highly regarded by the rest of society.
And yet you still insisted on playing what you, yourself, characterize as a “parlor game” and wish to take great offense when some posters indulge in some fairly mild teasing of your silliness AFTER you return to the thread to chide them for their lack of humor.
So, which is it? Do you have some great and ponderous thoughts that need to be given serious consideration because of some (rather obscure) gravitas? Or are you simply playing around, but wish to be the final arbiter of what will pass as humor in the threads you start?
If you want to mock other people, you will have to accept that they have the same opportunity to turn your straight lines around on you.
I have not expressed any opinion regardinmg the quality of your threads. On a few occasions I have corrected factual errors that you have posted, but I hardly wander through GD commenting on your opinions. So if you want to make fun of people who actually respected you enough to participate in a thread you started, I am afraid that you will have to be much more careful expressing your scorn lest someone turn your words on you.
