Regarding Cecil’s column about the famous theft of Geronimo’s remains by members of Yale’s Skull and Bones:

A Yale historian has uncovered a 1918 letter written by Winter Mead, a member of Skull and Bones who claims to have received the remains. The historian still doubts the theft took place (Mead himself was never at Fort Sill, and of course the Master’s review points out serious discrepancies between the Skull and Bones’ version of the theft and the actual circumstances of Geronimo’s final resting place), but this new evidence does fuel speculation that these pranksters did rob some grave at Fort Sill (probably not Geronimo’s). In any event, Geronimo’s descendants plan to use the missive as leverage and force the Army to allow their ancestor’s remains to be re-interred in New Mexico.
