Themed channel with most/least fidelity

Cartoon Network is starting to slip a little bit now. Lately they’ve been showing a lot of Goosebumps, which is a live-action show.

They’ve been slipping for a while now, showing live action movies and so forth. And there’s an original show that’s live action, too. They haven’t been all Cartoons for a little while now.

Boomerang is all classic cartoons however.

And Comcast sucks for not carrying it. Oh, sure, they think they’re throwing us a bone by carrying some Boomerang programming On Demand, but no Flintstones or Huckleberry Hound lately. I want the full channel programming.

I would say The Disney Channel and Toon Disney are pretty true to their name. The exception would be a couple of Disney’s live action shows like the Power Rangers, do end up on Toon Disney.

The Spanish-language channel, Telemundo, seems to be pretty consistent. Whenever I turn it on, they’re always speaking Spanish.

Comedy Central has done a good job with their theme and can almost be considered a major network at this point. Their mid-day programming tends to be weak (just like all the rest) but it is still comedy on some level.

Discovery Travel (U.K. version)seems to have nothing at all to do with travel and everything to do with getting people to buy holiday homes abroad.

In January 2008, Court TV will change its name to truTV.

Here’s another one I forgot about, but was reminded of today. abcFamily. For some reason, there seems to be a lot of syndicated shows and movies that I wouldn’t necessarily consider traditional “family” fare on that channel. I think I saw one of the American Pie movies on there today. And I am speaking for what might be considered “traditional” family fare. I realize that there may be families out there that allow their children to watch such types of movies and I do not hold them in contempt or judge them for doing so, just making an observation really…

Not quite. Some of their programming is reruns of rather recent vintage.

They’re close:
