Would this be too late to ask if you are sure it isn’t just pining for the fjords?
Flesh is not very good compost, though. I’d bury it as I have many animals–beloved pets, ill-fated hens, strangers that turned up dead, stray dogs that took a bullet. I’ve never dug as deep as three full feet. That’s a deeper hole than many of you are probably visualizing.
I know what you’re thinking, PSXer, but don’t bury him in the Indian Burial ground up on the hill. Sometimes things are best left alone. What’s dead should stay dead. Don’t bury him up there in the old cemetery on the hill a mile and a half west of Bent Creek just above Howell’s mill. Don’t you be thinking none about that. Sometimes dead is better. Don’t you go about using the shovel I’ve left by your back door either. Don’t do it, PSXer. Sometimes, what you take out of the ground ain’t the same thing you put in.
