There is a gas panic in San Antonio

Regarding Houston, that’s not quite correct. Gas Buddy is reporting about 80% of the local stations as status “unknown”; of the remainder, as of this writing only about half have any fuel. By personal observation (a trip through the Woodlands/Conroe area yesterday afternoon) that seems about right. I saw numerous stations outside the flooded zones that were out of fuel.

Regardless, as long as people keep their heads and refrain from hoarding, we should be all right.

Have you seen the articles about Hurricane Irma? If much of the East Coast starts thinking it would be a good idea to top off their gas tanks–just in case-- long nationwide gas lines here we come.

Two of my wife’s co-workers “kept their heads” and didn’t rush out to fill their tanks last week, believing it would be over in a day or two. Both were out of gas and asking for rides by the weekend. I think there’s a name for this situation (some kind of game theory).

According to my daughter, gas is now available in the DFW area (she filled up yesterday). I don’t know what percentage of stations, but I figure the usage is approaching normal after the surge of everyone filling their tanks at once.
